77 տարեկան հասակում կյանքից հեռացել է ՀՀ ժողովրդական արտիստ, Վանաձորի Հովհաննես Աբելյանի անվան պետական դրամատիկական թատրոնի գեղարվեստական ղեկավար, բեմադրիչ Վահե Շահվերդյան։ Այս մասին «Ֆեյսբուք» սոցիալական ցանցի իր էջում գրել է Վահե Շահվերդյանի որդին՝ բեմադրիչ Սուրեն Շահվերդյանը։

«Կներես, որ այս կյանքում չհասցրի խոսել քեզ հետ, այնքան, որքան պիտի խոսեի։

Կներես, որ չհասցրի ասել այն ինչ պիտի ասեի :

Կներես, որ չկարողացանք այս անգամ կյանքդ փրկել:

Կհանդիպենք երկնքում, ու ես կրկին այսպես պինդ կգրկեմ քեզ»,- ասված է գրառման մեջ։

Վահե (Ֆլոբեր) Սուրենի Շահվերդյան ծնվել է 1945 թվականին, օգոստոսի 19-ին, Կիրովականում։

1971 թվականին ավարտել է Երևանի գեղարվեստա-թատերական ինստիտուտը (ուսանել է Ռաֆայել Ջրբաշյանի մոտ)։

1973-1996 թվականներին եղել է Վանաձորի դրամատիկական թատրոն գեղարվեստական ղեկավար։

1992 թվականից դասախոսում է Երևանի թատրոնի և կինոյի պետական ինստիտուտում, 1994-1998 թվականներին՝ ռեկտոր, 2003 թվականից պրոֆեսոր։

1996-2008 թվականներին եղել է Երևանի Գաբրիել Սունդուկյանի անվան թատրոնի գեղարվեստական ղեկավար։

1995-1999 թվականներին՝ ՀՀ Աժ պատգամավոր։

Վահե Շահվերդյանն ութսունհինգ բեմադրությունների հեղինակ է, որոնցից շատերը հաջողությամբ ներկայացվել են աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներում։ Նրա լավագույն բեմադրություններ են համարվում Ա. Չեխովի «Երեք քույր», Գ. Լորկայի «Բեռնարդա Ալբան և նրա աղջիկները» և Շեքսպիրի «Լիր արքա» ներկայացումները։ Նրա ներկայացումները կոչվում են ռեժիսորական, քանի որ ռեժիսորական լուծումները գերակա դիրք ունեն դերասական խաղի նկատմամբ։
