ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ասել է, որ Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի զայրացած հռետորաբանությունը միջուկային զենքի և աշխարհին ուղղված սպառնալիքների վերաբերյալ հուշում է, որ նա պատրաստվում է զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենք կիրառել, գրում է Daily Mail-ը:
Պարբերականը նկատում է, որ շաբաթներ շարունակ ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաներն ասում էին, որ չեն տեսնում ապացույցներ առ այն, որ Ռուսաստանը փոխել է իր միջուկային դիրքորոշումը՝ չնայած մտավախություններին, որ Մոսկվան կարող է պատրաստվել Ուկրաինայում վերջին հուսահատ հարվածին:
Բայց հարցազրույցներից մեկում Բայդենին հարցրել են, թե արդյոք նա հավատո՞ւմ է Պուտինին, որն ավելի վաղ ասել էր, որ մտադիր չէ քիմիական կամ միջուկային զենք օգտագործել Ուկրաինայում:
«Կարծում եմ, եթե նա մտադրություն չունի, ինչո՞ւ է շարունակում այդ մասին խոսել: Ինչո՞ւ է նա խոսում տակտիկական միջուկային զենք օգտագործելու ունակության մասին։ Նա շատ վտանգավոր է այն առումով, թե ինչպես է մոտեցել դրան, և նա պետք է պարզապես դուրս գա«Նա կարող է վերջ տալ այս ամենին, հեռանալ Ուկրաինայից», - ասել է News Nation-ին։
Բայդենը այս ամսվա սկզբին օգտագործել էր «Արմագեդոն» բառը՝ ցույց տալու համար այն վտանգները, որոնք կարող են առաջանալ, եթե Պուտինը կիրառի տակտիկական միջուկային զենքը:
«Նա չի կատակում, երբ խոսում է մարտավարական միջուկային զենքի կամ կենսաբանական կամ քիմիական զենքի հնարավոր կիրառման մասին», - այն ժամանակ ասել էր Բայդենը:
