Ժամկետային զինծառայող Սասուն Մարգարյանը հոկտեմբերի 8-ին կդառնար 20 տարեկան: Մինչև սեպտեմբերի 13-ի լուսաբաց Սասունը՝ դիրքում մնացած մի քանի հոգու հետ, համառորեն դիմադրել է թշնամուն՝ թույլ չտալով առաջխաղացում ունենալ: Առավոտյան 9-ից կապը Սասունի հետ ընդհատվել է. տղաների վարած ինքնամոռաց կռվի մասին Սասունի հարազատներին պատմել է ընկերը՝ Գառնիկը, ում աչքի առաջ զոհվել է Սասունը:

«Շատ քիչ էին մնացել. մի մասը զոհվել էր, մի մասը՝ խուճապահար փախչել, իսկ Սասունը չէր կարող փախչել: Գառնիկի պատմելով՝ առավոտվա կողմ մի քանի հոգի էին մնացել էդ ուղղությամբ գտնվող դիրքերում: Ու քանի որ չէին հասցնում տեղները փոխել, կրակում էին նույն տեղից, թշնամին հասկացել էր, որ շատ քիչ են տղերքը ու թիրախավորել է արդեն: Փաստորեն՝ մինչև լուսադեմ ինչ տեսակի զենքով ասես, կրակել են, բայց խրամատի մեջ ռումբ չէր ընկել: Առավոտյան արդեն «սնարյադն» ընկավ Սասունենց խրամատ ու երեք հոգի տեղում միանգամից զոհվեցին»,-«Փաստինֆո»-ի հետ զրույցում պատմում է 19-ամյա Սասուն Մարգարյանի հորեղբոր որդին՝ Վասպուրը:

Մինչ զոհվելը Սասունը հասցրել էր վիրավոր ընկերոջը՝ Գառնիկին, տեղափոխել իրենց դիրք: Սասունի հետ ռումբի պայթյունից զոհված տղաներից մեկը հարևան դիրքից նրանց օգնության հասած լեյտենանտն էր:
«Գառնիկի վիրավորվելուց հետո իրենց դիրքում փաստացի երկու հոգով էին մնացել՝ Գառնիկը, որ չէր կարող մարտը շարունակել, մեկ էլ դիրքի ավագը: Կապ էին տվել, ասել՝ ինչ վիճակ է իրենց մոտ, որից հետո միացել էին Սասունենց»,-նշում է Սասունի ազգականը:
Վասպուրն ադրբեջանական վերջին հարձակման մասին իմացել է գիշերը՝ հարազատ եղբորից:

«Եղբորս ասի՝ ինչո՞ւ չես քնում, ասաց՝ վեր կաց, պատերազմ է: Ժամը 1:30 Սասունը զանգել էր իրեն ու ասել, որ ադրբեջանցիները հարձակվել են, վիճակը շատ վատ է: Որ ինքն այդպես ասաց, հասկացանք, որ շատ լուրջ է իրոք վիճակը: Մինչև այդ էլ կրակում էին, բայց ոչ մի բան չէր ասում՝ վատ է, լարված է, հակառակը՝ ասում էր նորմալ է ամեն ինչ»,-հիշում է Վասպուրը:
Ծառայության հանդեպ Սասունի վերաբերմունքի մասին հորեղբոր տղան լավ գիտեր, բայց որ այդ տարիքում ու պայմաններում նման համարձակություն ու ոգի կդրսևորեր, չէր պատկերացնում.

Լավ ծառայության համար Սասունին հաճախակի էին տուն ուղարկում: Մի անգամ էլ հրամանատարն ասել էր գնա տուն մի քանի օրով, հրաժարվել էր: Հայրը իմացել, զանգել էր, թե ինչու չես եկել, Սասունն էլ ասել էր՝ պապ, քիչ ենք էստեղ՝ դիրքում, տղաներն արձակուրդից վերադառնան, կգամ…»:

Ժամկետային զինծառայող Սասուն Մարգարյանին Շորժայից մի քանի ամսով Տավուշ էին տեղափոխել, բայց իր խնդրանքով նորից Շորժա՝ ընկերների մոտ՝ դիրքեր են տեղափոխել: Վասպուրը պատմում է՝ Սասունենց ծառայության վայրը վտանգավոր էր՝ մասնակի շրջափակված էին ադրբեջանական դիրքերով դեռ նախքան սեպտեմբերյան ռազմագործողությունները:

Այդքանով հանդերձ, երբ տեղափոխեցին Տավուշ, որտեղ պետք է նորակոչիկների վրա լիներ, (ինքը սերժանտ էր էլի), զանգեց հորն ու ասաց՝ մեկին ասա էլի, որ նորից գնամ, դիրքեր…Չեմ ուզում Իջևանում մնամ»,-ասում է ազգականը:

Իր պահած դիրքում մինչև վերջ կռիվ տված Սասունի զոհվելու լուրը հարազատներն իմացել են ծառայակից ընկերոջից՝ սեպտեմբերի 13-ին՝ երեկոյան ժամը 6-ի կողմերը:

Սասուն Մարգարյանը Արագածոտնի մարզի Շղարշիկ գյուղից էր, ունի ութ տարեկան եղբայր:
