Իսպանիայի Պոնտեւեդրա քաղաքում ընթացող հունահռոմեական ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի մինչեւ 23 տարեկանների առաջնությունում աշխարհի եւ Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն Մալխաս Ամոյանը նվաճեց տիտղոսը՝ եզրափակիչում 7:2 հաշվով պարտության մատնելով մոլդովացի Ալեքսանդրին Գուտուին։

23-ամյա ըմբիշը առաջին մրցափուլը մեծ ակտիվությամբ սկսեց եւ պարտերում վերեւից աշխատելու հնարավորություն ստացավ: 2-միավորանոց գլորումով հաշիվը դարձրեց 3:0:

Աշխարհի եւ Եվրոպայի չեմպիոնը ցանկանում էր երկրորդ գլորման գնալ, բայց մրցակցին հաջողվեց կանգնել եւ աշխատանքային գոտուց դուրս հրել Ամոյանին:

Մրցակիցները գնացին հանգստի 3:1 հաշվով՝ Ամոյանի առավելությամբ: Երկրորդ մրցափուլում Ամոյանը եւս 4 միավոր ավելացրեց հաշվին՝ երկու միավորանոց գցում եւ գլորումով: Մրցակցին հաջողվեց եւս մեկ միավոր վաստակել կրկին աշխատանքային գոտուց դուրս հրելով Ամոյանին: Գոտեմարտն ավարտվեց 7:2 հաշվով՝ Ամոյանի չեմպիոնությամբ:

Աշխարհի մինչեւ 23 տարեկանների չեմպիոնի կոչումը նվաճելուց հետո Մալխաս Ամոյանը Հայաստանի եռագույնով հաղթական շրջանը կատարեց իր հորեղբոր, Պեկին-2008 Օլիմպիական խաղերի բրոնզե մեդալակիր Ռոման Ամոյանի եւ հունահռոմեական ըմբշամարտի Հայաստանի հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Արմեն Բաբալարյանի հետ:

77 կգ քաշայինների կիսաեզրափակիչում Ամոյանը մրցել էր ճապոնացի Նաո Կուսակայի հետ եւ կամային հաղթանակ տարավ 9:5 հաշվով:

Ամոյանը պայքարը սկսել է 1/16 եզրափակիչից, որտեղ 1:1 հաշվով հաղթել է Իրանի ներկայացուցիչ Մոհամադ Ռեզա Մոխթարիին, 1/8 եզրափակիչում 3:0 հաշվով պարտության մատնել Էմանուել Ալեքսիս Բենիտես Կաստրոյին, քառորդ եզրափակիչում էլ 2:1 հաշվով առավելության է հասել Ղրղզստանի ներկայացուցիչ Ակիլբեկ Տալանտբեկովի նկատմամբ:

Քիչ անց 87 կգ քաշային Գեւրոգ Թադեւոսյանը չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը կվիճարկի Հունգարիայի ներկայացուցիչ Իշտվան Տակաչի հետ:
