Հայաստանյան Առաքելական եկեղեցին այսօր նշում է Ս. Մատթեոս, Մարկոս, Ղուկաս և Հովհաննես ավետարանիչների հիշատակի տոնը։

Qahana.am-ը  գրում է, որ Ս. Մատթեոսը Տիրոջ 12 առաքյալներից է, առաջին Ավետարանի հեղինակը: Մատթեոս անունը հունական է, այն եբրայերեն Ղևի անունն է, որ նշանակում է Աստվածատուր: Ս. Մատթեոսը նախկինում Կափառնա քաղաքում մաքսավոր էր եղել: Անսալով Տիրոջ ձայնին` վաճառել էր իր ունեցվածքը, գումարը բաժանել աղքատներին, դարձել Քրիստոսի հետևորդ: Նա Աստծո խոսքն է քարոզել Պարթևաստանում և Պաղեստինում:

Ս. Մարկոս Ավետարանիչը Բառնաբայի եղբոր տղան էր` բնիկ երուսաղեմացի: Կոչվում էր նաև Հովհաննես: Նրա մոր` Մարիամի տունը, Երուսաղեմում առաքյալների աղոթավայրն էր: Կարծում են, որ սա այն Վերնատունն էր, ուր Հիսուս իր վերջին ընթրիքն է կատարել, իսկ Հոգեգալստին` քրիստոնեական եկեղեցին է հիմնադրվել: Նա եղել է Ս. Պետրոս առաքյալի թարգմանիչը, ինչպես նաև Պողոսի և Բառնաբասի գործակիցներից մեկը: Ս. Մարկոսն ամենակարճ Ավետարանի հեղինակն է: Աստծո խոսքը  քարոզել է Եգիպտոսում, որտեղ էլ նահատակվել է: Ս. Մարկոսը Ղպտի Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցու հիմնադիրն է:

Ս. Ղուկաս Ավետարանիչը երրորդ ավետարանի հեղինակն է: Ծնվել է Անտիոքում և ըստ ավանդության, եղել Քրիստոսի 72 աշակերտներից: Ս. Պողոս առաքյալի վկայության համաձայն՝ մասնագիտությամբ եղել է բժիշկ: Լսելով Քրիստոսի քարոզների մասին` եկել է Պաղեստին և հետևել Տիրոջը: Աստծո խոսքը տարածել է Աքայայում, Լիբիայում, Եգիպտոսում և Թեբայում: Հռոմեացի Թեոփիլոսի խնդրանքով գրել է «Գործք Առաքելոց»-ը: Ըստ հին ավանդության՝ նահատակվել է Թեբայում:

Ս. Հովհաննես առաքյալը 4-րդ Ավետարանի, երեք ընդհանրական նամակների և «Հայտնության» գրքի հեղինակն է: Հիսուս նրան համարել է «սիրելի աշակերտ»: Հիսուս այնքան էր սիրում և վստահում նրան, որ խաչելության պահին Աստվածամորը հանձնեց նրա խնամքին: Մահացել է 100 թվականին, Եփեսոսում 95 տարեկանում:
