Ստեփանակերտի Սուրբ Հակոբ եկեղեցու բակից հազարավոր քաղաքացիների մասնակցությամբ սեպտեմբերի 27-ին տեղի է ունեցել Խաչերթ՝ ի հիշատակ Արցախյան 44-օրյա պատերազմում հանուն հայրենիքի պաշտպանության նահատակվածների:
«Արմենպրես»-ի թղթակցի հաղորդմամբ՝ Խաչերթի մեկնարկից առաջ եկեղեցու բակում հավաքվածներին դիմեց Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու Արցախի թեմի փոխառաջնորդ Տեր Սահակ վարդապետ Շաքարյանը: «Երկու տարի անց մենք կրկին հավաքվել ենք՝ միասնաբար ոգեկոչելու 44-օրյա պատերազմում նահատակված մեր սրբազան եղբայրների ու քույրերի հիշատակը: Այսօր նաև ուխտի և ուխտի նորոգման օր է: Սուրբ գիրքն ասում է, որ Աստված ապաշխարհանքից հետո է միայն ներում: Այսօր չպետք է շտապենք մեր քայլերի մեջ, պետք է լինենք հավասարակշռված ու փորձենք ազգային մեր ներուժը ՝ խաչի օգնությամբ, հավատքով խարսխված, ի ցույց դնել աստվածատուր ազգային շնորհը մեր երկիրը կրկին վերազարթնեցնելու և պայծառացնելու համար: Այսօր դեպի մեր հոգին նայելու պահ է և վերածննդի օր պիտի լինի յուրաքանչյուրիս համար»,- ասաց Տեր Սահակ վարդապետ Շաքարյանը:
Այնուհետև եկեղեցու կոչնակների ներքո ներկաները, ինչպես նաև ամբողջ Արցախում, լռության րոպեով հարգել են հանուն հայրենիքի նահատակվածների հիշատակը և միասնական աղոթել, որին հաջորդել է Խաչերթը՝ դեպի Ստեփանակերտի հուշահամալիր:
2020 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 27-ից Ադրբեջանը՝ Թուրքիայի աջակցությամբ, պատերազմ էր սանձազերծել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի դեմ՝ թիրախավորելով նաև քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքներ, քաղաքացիական անձանց: Նոյեմբերի 9-ին ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը, Հայաստանի վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը, Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը ստորագրել են համատեղ հայտարարություն՝ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում ռազմական գործողությունները դադարեցնելու հետ կապված: Չնայած եռակողմ հայտարարությամբ ստանձնած պարտավորությանը՝ 2 տարի անց էլ Ադրբեջանը դեռևս ամբողջությամբ չի վերադարձել հայ գերիներին:
