Իրավիճակն Իրաքում, չնայած ամբողջ երկրում սահմանված պարետային ժամին, շարունակում է լարված մնալ։ Բաղդադի «կանաչ գոտում» (լավ ամրացված տարածք, որտեղ տեղակայված են պետական հաստատություններն ու օտարերկրյա դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչությունները) շարունակվում են կատաղի բախումները շիա ազդեցիկ իմամ Մուկթադա աս-Սադրի շարժման կողմնակիցների եւ իրաքյան անվտանգության ուժերի ներկայացուցիչների միջեւ։
Վերջին տվյալներով՝ Իրաքի մայրաքաղաքի կենտրոնում տեղի ունեցած զինված բախումների ժամանակ առնվազն 20 մարդ է զոհվել, ավելի քան 300 մարդ վիրավորվել է։
Ըստ ստացվող տեղեկությունների՝ առնվազն յոթ պայթյուն որոտացել է Բաղդադի կենտրոնում, պայթել են մի քանի ականանետեր, ինքնաձիգներից կրակոցներ են հնչում։ Իրաքում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը, որը գտնվում է «կանաչ գոտում», ականանետային կրակոցների է ենթարկվել։
Քաղաք են բերվել իրաքյան կանոնավոր բանակի ստորաբաժանումները, «կանաչ գոտի» են մտեել «Սարայա ալ-Սալյամ» (Խաղաղության բրիգադներ) պարագլուխները՝ դաշնային անվտանգության ուժերին օգնելու համար։ Al Arabiya հեռուստաընկերությունը հայտնել է, որ բախումների արդյունքում երկու իրաքցի զինվոր է զոհվել։
Երկրի մյուս հատվածներում սադրիստները տներով չեն ցրվել. նստացույցը շարունակվում է երկրի արեւելքում գտնվող Դիյալա նահանգի ադմինիստրացիայի շենքի մոտ։ Ինչպես հաղորդում է Al Arabiya հեռուստաալիքը, սադրիստները փակել են մուտքը դեպի երկրի հարավում գտնվող Ումմ-Քասր նավահանգիստ։ Բասրա նահանգում կրակոցների ձայներ են լսվում։
Al Jazeera հեռուստաալիքի փոխանցմամբ՝ ցուցարարները սկսել են ներխուժել Կարբալա նահանգում գտնվող շրջանային խորհրդարանի շենք։
Ցուցարարներն այրել են Իսլամական հեղափոխության պահապանների կորպուսի (ԻՀՊԿ, Իրանի զինված ուժերի էլիտար ստորաբաժանումներ) եւ Իրաքի շիա աշխարհազորայինների ղեկավարի տեղակալ Աբու Մահդի ալ-Մուհանդիսի, գեներալ Ղասեմ Սոլեյմանիի դիմանկարները։ Հաշդ ալ-Շաաբին, ով սպանվել էր Բաղդադում 2020 թ.՝ որպես երկրում իրանամետ ուժերի ազդեցության դեմ բողոքի նշան։
Իրաքի վարչապետ Մուստաֆա ալ-Քազիմին օգոստոսի 30-ը ոչ աշխատանքային օր է հայտարարել։
Արմատական շիա իմամը, ում Իրաքի քաղաքական կյանքից հեռանալու մասին հայտարարությունը բողոքի շարժման ալիք բարձրացրեց, հացադուլ է հայտարարել, քանի դեռ բռնությունները չեն դադարել։ Բաղդադում ցույցերի ամենաթեժ պահին վարչապետ ալ-Քազիմին դիմել է նրան օգնության համար, որպեսզի նա աջակցություն ցուցաբերի կարգուկանոն հաստատելու համար։
