«ԱՐԱՐ» հիմնադրամի համահիմնադիր, հասարակական-քաղաքական գործիչ Ավետիք Չալաբյանի դեմ քրեական հետապնդումը ապշեցնում է իր ցինիզմով և իրավական պրիմիտիվիզմով։ Ոչ միայն Չալաբյանի փաստաբանները, այլ նաև բազմաթիվ իրավապաշտպաններ նշում են, որ այս գործը հեռանկար չունի, նույնիսկ այս իշխանությունների օրոք, այնքան փնթի և վատ կարված գործ է, որ նույնիսկ Փաշինյանի օրոք հնարավոր չի լինի Ավետիք Չալաբյանին դատապարտել, ավելին ստիպված են լինելու մոտ ապագայում ազատ արձակել հասարակական-քաղաքական գործչին։

Բարդ է կարծել, թե իշխանության մեջ չկան համապատասխան իրավաբաններ և գիտակից մարդիկ, որոնք հասկանում են այս գործի անհեռանկարայնությունը, իհարկե, այդ մարդիկ նաև այդ մասին տեղյակ պահած կլինեն իրենց էքսցենտրիկ և բռնապետի հակումներով օժտված պարագլուխ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին։ Վերջինս, սակայն Ավետիք Չալաբյանի դեմ հետապնդմամբ ընդամենը ցանկանում է լուծել մեկ հարց։ Ոչ միայն Հայաստանում, այլ նաև արտերկրում բնակվող հայ հայտնի անձանց, հեղինակություն վայելող մարդկանց ահաբեկելով, ցույց տալ, թե ինքը ի վիճակի է Հայաստանում անել ցանկացած ապօրինություն, ցանկացած մարդու նկատմամբ և մարսել, որևէ այլ բացատրություն այս ամենին չկա։

Իհարկե, Փաշինյանը հասկանում է, որ նույնիսկ կարված գործը, որը ապաքրեականացվելու է հուլիսի 1-ին ուժի մեջ մտնող քրեական օրենսգրքով, չի կարողանալու Ավետիք Չալաբյանին պահել ճաղերի ետևում։ Իշխանությունն, իհարկե, կփորձի մեկ այլ քրեական գործ կարել, մեկ այլ կեղծ ցուցմունքի հիման վրա, սակայն խնդիրն այստեղ ամենևին իրավունքը չէ, իշխանությունը հստակ նպատակ ունի բոլորին, այդ թվում թե՛ ընդդիմությանը, թե՛ Հայաստանի բնակիչներին, թե՛ մյուսներին ապացուցելու իր կարողություններն ու ընդունակությունները՝ հետապնդելու յուրաքանչյուր մարդու։ Ըստ էության, դրա համար Փաշինյանն իր արևմտյան հովանավորներից նույնիսկ ինդուլգենցիա է ստացել, և նրանք՝ տարատեսակ եվրապաշտոնյաները, իշխանության ներկայացուցիչների հետ հանդիպումներում բառ անգամ չեն ասում քաղաքական բռնաճնշումների մասին, իսկ տեղական իրավապաշտպանները վաղուց կորցրել են իրենց ձայնը։
