Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Կարին Ժան Պիերը հերքել է մտահոգություններն առ այն, որ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի տարիքը կամ դիմացկունությունը կարող են մարտահրավեր հանդիսանալ նրա վերընտրման համար՝ ասելով. «Օ՜, Աստված իմ, նա Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահն է, գիտե՞ք՝ ես նույնիսկ չեմ հասցնում հետևել նրան»:
«Մենք հենց նոր վերադարձանք Նյու Մեքսիկոյից, նոր վերադարձանք Կալիֆոռնիայից... պարզապես նայեք նրա աշխատանքին և տեսեք, թե... ինչպես է նա մատուցում ամերիկյան հանրությանը»,- շարունակել է կինը:
Ժան Պիերը հերքել է New York Times-ի հոդվածը, որում ԱՄՆ նախկին ղեկավար Բարաք Օբամայի նախկին գլխավոր ստրատեգ և CNN-ի քաղաքական մեկնաբան Դեյվիդ Աքսելռոդը Բայդենի տարիքն անվանել է «գլխավոր խնդիր» վերընտրվելու համար: Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղարը այդ տեսակետը «կեղծիք է» որակել:
Կարին Ժան Պիերը նաև հաստատել է, որ Բայդենը մտադիր է երկրորդ անգամ առաջադրվել 2024 թվականին։
«Կարող եմ ասել, որ նախագահը բազմիցս ասել է, որ ծրագրում է առաջադրվել 2024 թվականին», - ասել է նա CNN-ի եթերում։
Ավելի վաղ The Hill-ը հայտնել էր, որ 79-ամյա Բայդենը ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Բարաք Օբամային ասել է, որ ծրագրում է առաջադրվել 2024 թվականի նախագահական ընտրություններում։ Սակայն, ինչպես նշում է հրատարակությունը, ցածր վարկանիշը կարող է խանգարել նրան վերընտրվել։
