Թուրքիան չի փոխի իր դիրքորոշումը Շվեդիայի և Ֆինլանդիայի՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ին անդամակցելու հարցում, եթե նրանց կողմից անհրաժեշտ քայլեր չձեռնարկվեն, հայտարարել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը The Economist-ի համար հրապարակված հոդվածում։

Ֆինլանդիան և Շվեդիան մայիսի 18-ին ուկրաինական իրադարձությունների ֆոնին ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարին են փոխանցել դաշինքին միանալու հայտ։ Թուրքիան արգելափակել է այս դիմումների ուսումնասիրման գործընթացի մեկնարկը։ Թուրքիայի նախագահը հայտարարել է, որ Անկարան չի կարող «այո» ասել ՆԱՏՕ-ին Ֆինլանդիայի և Շվեդիայի անդամակցությանը, քանի որ չի կարող հավատալ նրանց հավաստիացումներին Թուրքիայում արգելված Քրդստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցության ներկայացուցիչների հետ հարաբերությունների վերաբերյալ։

«Թուրքիայի առարկությունը Շվեդիայի և Ֆինլանդիայի (ՆԱՏՕ-ին) անդամակցությանը նույնպես վճռական քայլ է, որը արվել է հանուն բոլոր անդամների, որոնք մինչ այժմ եղել են ահաբեկչության թիրախ։ Թուրքիան ցանկանում է, որ այդ երկրները աջակցեն հակաահաբեկչական գործողություններին, որոնք պետք է իրականացնեն ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամները։ Ահաբեկչությունը սպառնալիք է բոլոր անդամ երկրների համար, և թեկնածու երկրները պետք է ճանաչեն այս փաստը նախքան կազմակերպությանն անդամակցելը։ Եթե նրանք չձեռնարկեն անհրաժեշտ քայլերը, Թուրքիան չի փոխի իր դիրքորոշումն այս հարցում»,- ասել է Էրդողանը։
