Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանի շնորհավորական ուղերձը Հանրապետության տոնի առթիվ.
«Սրտանց շնորհավորում եմ հայրենակիցներիս Հանրապետության տոնի կապակցությամբ։
Բարդ ու խրթին է եղել մեր ժողովրդի ճանապարհը դեպի անկախություն։ Հազարամյակների պետականություն ունեցած Հայաստանը դարեր շարունակ զրկված է եղել անկախությունից՝ ենթարկվելով թշնամյաց ասպատակաությունների ու արշավանքների, սակայն մենք միշտ փայփայել ենք անկախության և պետականության նվիրական երազանքը՝ այն իրականություն դարձնելով 1918 թվականի մայիսի 28-ին:
Այդ օրը՝ մայիսի 28-ին, վերածնվեց հայոց պետականությունը, և որ ամենակարևորը մեր ջանքերով՝ հայության ջանքերով։ Դարերի ընթացքում առաջին անգամ մենք ապավինեցինք մեզ և հաղթեցինք աներևակայելի պայմաններում: Այդպես էր նաև 1991 թվականին, երբ Հայաստանն անկախացավ Խորհրդային միությունից։ Մենք նույնպես հույսներս կապեցինք միայն մեզ հետ ու ամենադժվար պայմաններում հասանք հաղթանակի։
Հայաստանի Առաջին հանրապետության ծնունդը Հայաստանի պատմության շրջադարձային էջերից է։ Եվ մենք մեզ միշտ հարց ենք տալիս, թե կլինե՞ր Խորհրդային Հայաստանն ու այսօրվա ազատ ու անկախ Հայաստանը, եթե հայ ազգի անհավանական ջանքերի շնորհիվ չստեղծվեր Առաջին հանրապետությունը։ Սակայն, անկախ այս հարցի պատասխանից, մի բան ակնհայտ է՝ և՛ Առաջին հանրապետությունը, և՛ Խորհրդային Հայաստանը, և՛ այսօրվա Հայաստանի անցած ճանապարհը մեր պատմությունն են, և մենք պետք է ոչ միայն ուսումնասիրենք այդ պատմությունը, այլ նաև դասեր քաղենք դրանից։
Եվ այսօր մեր անհետաձգելի խնդիրն է շենացնել մեր հայրենիքը, այն դարձնել ամուր, մրցունակ և ապահով երկիր, համախմբվել ազգային իղձերի և նպատակների շուրջ: Յուրաքանչյուրիս արդյունավետ ու ստեղծագործ աշխատանքից է կախված մեր երկրի տնտեսության զարգացումը, սահմանների ամրությունը, պետականության ամրապնդումը, վաղվա երջանիկ ու ապահով Հայաստանի կերտումը։ Իսկ դրա համար անհրաժեշտ է մեր համերաշխությունը և միասնությունը։
Տոնական այս օրը մաղթում եմ բոլորիս առողջություն, արևշատություն, բարօր արարում հանուն մեր սիրելի հայրենիքի՝ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության»։
