Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին այսօր նշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Համբարձման տոնը։

Qahana.am-ը գրում է, որ տոնը նշվում է Քրիստոսի Հարության 40-րդ օրը: Հարությունից հետո Քրիստոս 40 օր մնում է երկրի վրա և երևում առաքյալներին ու հավատացյալներին: Այդ ընթացքում Հիսուս Իր վարդապետությունն է ուսացանում նրանց, իսկ վերջին հանդիպման ժամանակ օրհնում ու պատգամներ տալիս առաքյալներին, որից հետո համբարձվում է երկինք:

Քրիստոսի Համբարձման մասին վկայում են Ս. Մարկոս և Ս. Ղուկաս ավետարանիչները, ինչպես նաև՝ «Գործք Առաքելոց»–ը։ «Եվ Ինքը` Տեր Հիսուս, նրանց հետ խոսելուց հետո, դեպի երկինք վերացավ և նստեց Հոր աջ կողմը» (Մարկ. 16:19): Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին Համբարձման տոնին հիշատակում է նաև Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսության Աթոռը Սիս քաղաքից Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին փոխադրելը:

Պատմության թելադրանքով 484 թվականից Հայաստանի տարբեր վայրերում հանգրվանած Հայրապետական Աթոռը 1441 թվականին Վաղարշապատի ազգային-եկեղեցական ժողովի որոշմամբ մեկընդմիշտ վերահաստատվում է լուսավորչահիմն Ս. Էջմիածնում: Ի հիշատակություն պատմական այդ օրվա` Ս. Էջմիածնում Համբարձման տոնի առթիվ մատուցվող Ս. Պատարագի ընթացքում Իջման Ս. Սեղանի առջև կատարվում է նաև Հայրապետական մաղթանք:

Քրիստոսի Համբարձման տոնն ուղեկցվում է նաև ժողովրդական հանդիսություններով և կոչվում է Ջանգյուլում (գյուլ` նշանակում է վարդ, ծաղիկ): Հնում Համբարձման օրվա տոնակատարությունները սկսվում էին չորեքշաբթի օրը: Կանայք այդ օրն անվանում էին «Ծաղկամոր կիրակի»:

Ծաղկամայրն ըստ ավանդության քրիստոնյա Վարվառե կույսն է, ով փախչելով կռապաշտ հորից՝ ապաստանում է Աշտարակի մոտ գտնվող Արայի լեռան քարանձավում: Հայրը հետապնդում է աղջկան, գտնում և սպանում նրան: Նահատակվելուց առաջ Վարվառեն Աստծուն խնդրում է, որ ծաղիկ և կարմրուկ հիվանդություններ ունեցող մանուկները բժշկվեն իր անունով: Աստված կատարում է նրա խնդրանքը, և Վարվառեի բարեխոսությունը խնդրող ծնողների զավակներն ազատվում են այդ հիվանդություններից: Այդ քարանձավը դարձել է ուխտատեղի: Քարանձավի պատերից մշտապես ջուր է հոսում, որն ունի բուժիչ հատկություն: Ժողովուրդն հավատացած է, որ այդ ջուրը Վարվառե կույսի արցունքներն են:

Տոնը Հայաստանի տարբեր շրջաններում յուրովի է նշվում: Սակայն նախապես կատարվում է ծաղկահավաք: Տոնի ժամանակ ամենուրեք կատարվում է վիճականահություն և պարզվում, թե տվյալ տարում որ աղջիկն է ամուսնանալու: Տոնի օրը ջրով լի կժերի մեջ գցում են ծաղիկների տերևներ և աղջիկներին պատկանող զանազան իրեր: Այնուհետև դեռահաս մի աղջկա հագցնում են հարսի զգեստ, վերցնում կժերը, ծաղիկները և շրջում տնետուն: Այս ամենը զուգորդվում է երգերով, կատակներով և հանգանակություններով: Հետո սկսվում է վիճակահանությունը. ում պատկանում է կժից դուրս բերված առաջին իրը, նրան մոտալուտ ամուսնություն է սպասվում: Կժից հանում են մյուս իրերը, որոնց տերերին խրատներ և բարեմաղթանքներ են բաշխվում:
