Համավարակը եւ կլիմայական ճգնաժամն ուժեղացրել են պարենով բնակչությանն ապահովելու խնդիրները աշխարհի շատ տարածաշրջաններում, սակայն բռնության կիրառմամբ հակամարտությունները շարունակում են համաշխարհային սովի հիմնական պատճառը մնալ: Այս մասին ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի նիստում հայտարարել է ՄԱԿ-ի Պարենի եւ գյուղատնտեսության կազմակերպության (FAO) գլխավոր տնօրեն Ցյույ Դունյույը, փոխանցում է DW-ն։

Նրա խոսքով, 2018-2021 թվականներին ամբողջ աշխարհում պարենի սուր անբավարարության բախվող մարդկանց թիվն աճել է 88 տոկոսով՝ հասնելով ավելի քան 139 միլիոնի։ Ուկրաինայում պատերազմ այն վտանգն է պարունակում, որ աշխարհում այն մարդկանց թիվը, որոնց սպառնում են պարենի ապահովման խափանումներն ու սովը, կշարունակի աճել, ընդգծել է FAO-ի ղեկավարը։ Ըստ «Պարենային ճգնաժամերի համաշխարհային զեկույցի»՝ անցյալ տարի այդ ցուցանիշը հասել է գրեթե 193 միլիոնի, ինչը 40 միլիոնով ավելի է նախորդ տարվա համեմատ:

2022 թվականին սովից տառապողների թիվը կշարունակի աճել, զգուշացրել է Դունյույը։ Սպառնալիքի տակ գտնվող երկրների թվում նա նշել է Աֆղանստանը, Սոմալին, Հարավային Սուդանը եւ Եմենը։ FAO-ի վերջին գնահատականի համաձայն՝ 2023 թվականին ուկրաինական պատերազմի պատճառով քրոնիկ թերսնմամբ տառապողների թիվը կարող է աճել եւս 18,8 միլիոնով։

Ելույթ ունենալով համաշխարհային խաղաղության եւ պարենային անվտանգության մասին քննարկումների ժամանակ՝ Դունյույը կոչ է արել համաշխարհային հանրությանը ավելի շատ միջոցներ հատկացնել կայուն ագրարային տնտեսություն կառուցելու համար։ Անհրաժեշտ է շտապ ընդլայնել գյուղատնտեսությանն աջակցությունը՝ սննդամթերքի առկայություն ու հասանելիություն ապահովելու համար, այդ թվում՝ ճգնաժամային իրավիճակներում։
