ԱՄՆ մի խումբ կոնգրեսականներ ապրիլի 5-ին դիմել են ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենին՝ Ուկրաինային ռազմական օգնությունն ավելացնելու կոչով։ Այս մասին ասվում է կոնգրեսականներից մեկի կայքում տեղադրված նամակում։

Ստորագրողների թվում են Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի զինված ուժերի, հետախուզության և արտաքին գործերի հանձնաժողովների անդամները։ Փաստաթուղթն ընդհանուր առմամբ ստորագրել է 44 կոնգրեսական։

Մասնավորապես, նրանք խնդրել են Ուկրաինային մատակարարել հեռահար «երկիր-օդ» հրթիռներ, կործանիչներ, հականավային զենքեր, «Սթինգեր» զենիթային համակարգեր, «Ջավելին» հակատանկային համակարգեր, հեռահար անօդաչու սարքեր և ռադարներ:

«Մենք կարող ենք մեծ փոփոխություն մտցնել՝ օգնելով ուկրաինացիներին պաշտպանվել Պուտինի ներխուժումից: Ուկրաինայի ղեկավարությունը օգնություն է խնդրում աշխարհից, և մենք զգում ենք, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները պետք է գործի: Մենք նախագահ Բայդենին կոչ ենք անում լսել Ուկրաինայի ղեկավարությանը և տրամադրել այն աջակցությունը, որը նրանք և ուկրաինացի ժողովուրդը խնդրում են խաղաղության համար»,- ասել է կոնգրեսական Էնդի Քիմը։

Կոնգրեսական Ջեյսոն Քրոուն իր հերթին նշել է, որ «Ուկրաինայի պայքարն ազատության և ժողովրդավարության համար այն պայքարն է, որը նա պետք է հաղթի»։

«Ուկրաինացիները կկարողանան հաղթել, բայց առաջիկա ամիսներին նրանք ավելի շատ աջակցության կարիք կունենան: Այդ իսկ պատճառով ես կոչ եմ անում իմ գործընկերներին մեծացնել ռազմական աջակցությունը մեր ուկրաինացի եղբայրներին և քույրերին: Սա շրջադարձային կետ է ժողովրդավարության համար պայքարում, և մենք պետք է հաղթենք»,- հավելեց կոնգրեսականը։
