Քաղաքագետ Հրանտ Մելիք-Շահնազարյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

«Եթե ադրբեջանցիները շատ արագ դուրս չշպրտվեն Փառուխից ու հարակից բարձունքներից, կնշանակի Մարիուպոլում ու Իզյումում ռուսական զորքերի այսօրվա հաջողություններն առոչինչ են։ 
Մենք պետք է լավ հասկանանք աշխարհաքաղաքական ժամանակակից իրողություններն ու մեր շուրջը տեղի ունեցող զարգացումների տրամաբանությունը։ Արցախն ու Ուկրաինան Ռուսաստանի և Արևմուտքի հակամարտության հիմնական նպատակաները չեն։ Նպատակներն այլ են՝ շատ ավելի գլոբալ։ Արցախն ու Ուկրաինան այդ հակամարտության երկու ճակատներն են միայն։ Եվ եթե Ռուսաստանում իսկապես կարծում են, որ երկիրն իր ազդեցության նախկին գոտիները վերականգնելու բավարար պոտենցիալ ունի, ուրեմն նրանք գործնականում պետք է ցույց տան, որ ի վիճակի են երկու, իսկ անհրաժեշտության պարագայում նաև երեք, չորս ճակատներ սպասարկել։
Արցախում ռուսական խաղաղապահ առաքելությունն այսօր ձախողման եզրին է հայտնվել։ Նրանք պատասխանատվություն են ստանձնել մեր աշխարհաքաղաքական ճակատում կայունություն ապահովելու համար և տապալում են այդ գործը։ Խայտառակ ձևով են տապալում։ 
Ռուսներն այս իրավիճակից դուրս գալու երկու ճանապարհ ունեն միայն։ Առաջինի մասին արդեն գրեցի՝ նրանք պետք է վռնդեն ադրբեջացիներին իրենց ելման դիրքեր։ Ավելին՝ պետք է պատժեն նրանց այս լկտի պահվածքի համար։ Սա այդ խնդրի լուծման հայանպաստ տարբերակն է։ Բայց կա նաև երկրորդ ուղին, որը պարզապես կործանարար կլինի մեզ համար։ Այն է՝ ռուսական կողմը լռեցնում է հայերի դժգոհությունը և տեսք ընդունում, իբրև Արցախում որևէ լուրջ բան տեղի չի ունեցել։ Դժվար այս շրջանի համար սա, իհարկե, ժամանակավոր լուծում է Ռուսաստանի համար։ Բայց այն կա և մեր՝ որպես ժողովուրդ, հիմնական խնդիրը պետք է մեկը լինի՝ թույլ չտալ, որ հանկարծ նման բան տեղի ունենա։
Ասեմ նաև, որ իշխանություններից որևէ հույս չկա։ Այդ հարցը մեր հանրությունը պետք է լուծի՝ գործի դնելով իր ողջ ռեսուրսը՝ լրատվամիջոցներ, փորձագիտական հանրություն, քաղաքական ուժեր, մտավորականություն և այլն, և այլն։ Ընդ որում, այդ ամենի համար մենք շատ քիչ ժամանակ ունենք՝ բառացիորեն մեկ-երկու օր»։
