Տղամարդը 19 տարի բանտ է նստել` երկվորյակ եղբոր կատարած հանցագործության համար
SOCIETYԱմերիկացին ազատ է արձակվել բանտից այն բանից հետո, երբ նրա երկվորյակ եղբայրը խոստովանել է հանցանքը, հայտնում է LADBible-ը։ Ընդհանուր առմամբ, ամերիկացին ճաղերի հետևում անցկացրել է 19 տարի՝ լինելով անմեղ։
44-ամյա Քևին Դուգարը 2003 թվականին սպանության համար սխալմամբ դատապարտվել է ազատազրկման։ Տասը տարի անց նրա երկվորյակ եղբայրը՝ Կարլը, խոստովանել է հանցանքը՝ նամակ ուղարկելով բանտում գտնվող եղբորը։
«Ես պետք է այս ծանրությունը հանեմ կրծքիցս, նախքան այն ինձ սպանի: Ես խոստովանում եմ սպանությունը և աղոթում եմ, որ ներես ինձ»,- ասված է նամակի մեջ։
Ավելին, Կարլը հաստատել է իր խոսքերը և կապվել Քևինի փաստաբանների հետ՝ օգնելու եղբորը դուրս գալ բանտից։ Նշվում է, որ ամերիկացին դատարան է գնացել նաև 2016 թվականին՝ իրեն մեղավոր ճանաչելու համար։
«Ես այստեղ եմ, որպեսզի խոստովանեմ այն հանցանքը, որի համար Դուգարին սխալմամբ մեղադրել են», - ասել էր Կարլը։
Չնայած բոլոր պնդումներին, 2018-ին Քևինին մերժեցին կրկնակի դատավարություն անցկացնել՝ պատճառաբանելով, որ եղբոր անկեղծ խոստովանությունն արժանահավատ չէ:
Սակայն ավելի ուշ դատարանի որոշումը բողոքարկվեց՝ կրկնակի դատավարություն, ամեն դեպքում, սկսվեց։ Դրա արդյունքների համաձայն՝ 2022 թվականի հունվարին Քևինն ազատ է արձակվել բանտից՝ այնտեղ 19 տարի անցկացնելուց հետո։
«Նա ուրախ է, որ ազատ է, բայց նա պետք է հարմարվի մի աշխարհի, որը շատ տարբեր է 20 տարի առաջ եղածից», - ասում է Դուգարի փաստաբան Ռոնալդ Սաֆերը:
