Ինչպես էին հայերը հնում նշում Ամանորը

Հայտնի է, որ հայոց մեջ հունվարմեկյան տարեմուտը համընդհանուր հաստատում է գտել միայն 18-րդ դարում: Ամանորյա տոներն ընդգրկել են ավանդական տարբեր ծեսեր ու արարողություններ:
Նախ եւ առաջ մարդիկ մաքրում էին տունը, բակը, գոմը: Այս գործին մասնակից էին ընտանիքի բոլոր անդամները: Նոր տարվա երեկոյան այրում էին տարեմուտի քոթուկը' մի մեծ գերան։ Այն պիտի վառվեր մինչև Սուրբ Ծնունդ: Հավատում էին, որ դրա ծուխը վանում է չար ոգիներին, իսկ կրակն ու լույսը մաքրագործում ու զորացնում մարդկանց հոգիները: Ամեն մի հյուր պարտավոր էր մի կտոր փայտ ավելացնել կրակին: Թոնիրը վառ պիտի լիներ, շուրջը մաքուր, խմորի տաշտը լի։ Թխվում էր թարմ հաց, որպեսզի առատությունն ու բարիքն անպակաս լինի: Տարեհացը զարդարում էին ամենատարբեր ձեւերով եւ բաժանում տասներկու մասի:
Մութն ընկնելուն պես տանտիկինը շեմին մոխիր էր ցանում' չարքերից պաշտպանվելու համար: Մոխիր էին ցանում նաեւ հանդերում ու դաշտերում․․․ Այդ նույն նպատակով ալյուրով դռանը խաչ էին անում: Լոռիում տանտիկինը մեղր էր քսում ընտանիքի բոլոր անդամների բերաններին, որպեսզի կլոր տարին հեռու մնան վեճից ու բամբասանքից, իսկ Համշենում, նույն նպատակով, խուսափում էին կծու կերակուրներ օգտագործելուց: Ավանդական սովորության համաձայն Ամանորի գիշերը տներում ճրագ էին վառում, որպեսզի տան հաջողությունը չփախչի:
Ընտանիքի բոլոր անդամները նոր զգեստներ էին հագնում: Գժտվածներին հաշտեցնում էին։ Տոնական սեղանները որքան էլ առատ լինեին՝ մսեղեն կերակրատեսակները բացառվում էին: Ամանորյա սեղանի անբաժան զարդն էր լոբին։ Այն խորհրդանշում էր ընտանիքի միությունը, ամրությունն ու հավերժությունը։ Անպակաս էր երգն ու պարը, խաղն ու զվարճախոսությունը։ Տոնը շնորհավորելու ավանդույթի համաձայն մարդիկ այցելում էին միմյանց։ Տուն մտնում էին աջ ոտքը առաջինը ներս դնելով, այլապես ձախորդություններն անպակաս կլինեին:
Շնորհավորելու գնացողները երբեք դատարկաձեռն տուն չէին մտնում, մի բան ավելացնում էին սեղանի բարիքներին' մաղթելով բարեկեցություն ու երկարակեցություն: Սասունում ընդունված չէր երկարաշունչ մաղթանքներ ու կենացներ ասելը, որովհետեւ լեռնականները գործը գերադասում էին խոսքից, իսկ խոսքի ուժն ու զորությունը տեսնում էին քչախոսության մեջ։ Ուրեմն վերջ։ Շնորհավոր Ամանոր եւ Սուրբ Ծնունդ։
