ՕՊԵԿ-ի հաջորդ գլխավոր քարտուղար է դարձել Քուվեյթի ներկայացուցիչ Հայսամ ալ Գայսը

ՕՊԵԿ-ի երկրների նախարարները երկուշաբթի օրը կայացած հատուկ տեսակոնֆերանսի ժամանակ Քուվեյթից Հայսամ ալ Գայսին 2022 թվականի օգոստոսից նշանակել են ՕՊԵԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար։ Այս մասին ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտնել է ՕՊԵԿ-ում աղբյուրը։
«Վերջ, նշանակեցին ալ Գայսին»,- ասել է նա: Ալ Գայսը կփոխարինի նիգերիացի Մոհամմադ Բարկինդոյին, ով այս պաշտոնը 2016 թվականից է զբաղեցնում։ Նրա լիազորությունների ժամկետը լրանում է 2022 թվականի հուլիսին։ Ալ Գայսը 2017-2021 թվականներին ղեկավարել է Քուվեյթի պատվիրակությունը ՕՊԵԿ-ում: Ալ-Գայսի թեկնածությունը միակն էր ցուցակում։
ՕՊԵԿ-ի կանոնադրության համաձայն՝ գլխավոր քարտուղարն ընտրվում է երեք տարի ժամկետով եւ կարող է վերընտրվել միայն մեկ անգամ։
Ընդհանուր առմամբ, ՕՊԵԿ-ում, չհաշված Բարկինդոյին, 1961 թվականից եղել է 22 գլխավոր քարտուղար եւ հինգ կոնֆերանսների նախագահներ, ովքեր վերահսկել են ՕՊԵԿ-ի աշխատանքը: Լիբիայի ներկայացուցիչ Աբդուլլահ Սալեմ ալ Բադրին ամենաերկարն է մնացել այս պաշտոնում, նա գլխավոր քարտուղարի պաշտոնը զբաղեցրել է 2007-2013 թվականներին, իսկ հետո նրա լիազորությունները երկարաձգվել են մինչեւ 2016 թվականի հուլիսը, քանի որ ՕՊԵԿ-ը չէր կարողանում նոր գլխավոր քարտուղար ընտրել։
