ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ծրագրում է մասնակցել 2024թ. նախագահական ընտրություններին եւ մտադիր է դա անել ներկայիս փոխնախագահ Քամալա Հարիսի հետ միասին։ Այս մասին հինգշաբթի ավանդական ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղարի տեղակալ Քարին Ժան-Պիեռը, տեեղեկացրել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։
Նրան խնդրել են մեկնաբանել Հարիսի հարցազրույցը The Wall Street Journal թերթին, որում նա խոստովանել է, որ Բայդենի հետ չի քննարկել 2024թ. ընտրություններին մասնակցելու հարցը։ «Ես չեմ կարող խոսել այն մասին, թե ինչ խոսակցություններ են միմյանց միջեւ վարում փոխնախագահն ու նախագահը, ես կարող եմ միայն ասել այն մասին, ինչը նախագահն ինքն է ասել. որ նա ծրագրում է մասնակցել 2024թ. նախագահական ընտրություններին։ Սրան ավելացնելու բան ես չունեմ»,- պատասխանել է Ժան Պիեռը։
Նրան խնդրել են ճշտել, թե արդյոք Բայդենը ծրագրում է մասնակցել այդ ընտրություններին Հարիսի հետ միասին։ «Այո, նախատեսում է։ Ոչինչ չի փոխվել»,- հավաստիացրել է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղարի տեղակալը։
Ավելի վաղ CNN հեռուստաալիքը տեղեկացրել էր, որ Հարիսն ու նրա գրասենյակը ուժասպառ են նշանակալի աշխատանքի բացակայությունից եւ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի գրասենյակի հետ լարված հարաբերություններից։ Բացի այդ, իջել է փոխնախագահի գործունեությանը հավանություն տալու վարկանիշը։ Ինքը՝ Հարիսը, հերքել է ենթադրությունը, թե իրեն կարեւոր առաջադրանքներ չեն հանձնարարում, իսկ Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Ջեն Փսակին Թվիթերում գրել է, որ փոխնախագահը ոչ միայն Բայդենի «կենսականորեն կարեւոր գործընկերն է», այլեւ «վճռական առաջնորդ է, որը զբաղվում է երկրի կարեւորագույն խնդիրներով»։
Մարտին նախագահ Բայդենը Հարիսի վրա դրեց երկրում միգրացիոն խնդիրների լուծման պարտականությունները, որոնք ամերիկյան ԶԼՄ-ներն անվանեցին նոր վարչակազմի գլխավոր «գլխացավանքը»։ Այս առնչությամբ Հարիսը դարձավ հանրապետականների ակտիվ քննադատության թիրախը։
