Երեկ Հայկ Մարությանին անվստահություն հայտնելու նախագծին թեեւ միացել էր ավագանու 65 անդամից 43-ը, սակայն Մարությանին մոտ կանգնած աղբյուրների փոխանցմամբ՝ նա բավականին հանգիստ է եւ կարծում է, որ փակ քվեարկության արդյունքում մեծ մասը կողմ չի քվեարկի, եւ կտապալվի Փաշինյանի նախաձեռնությունը։ Նա կարծում է, որ շատերը Փաշինյանից վախենալով են ստորագրել, եւ եթե անգամ ոմանք դեմ են իր մնալուն, առավել դեմ են քաղաքապետի առաջին տեղակալ Հրաչյա Սարգսյանի՝ քաղաքապետ դառնալուն։ Այժմ Մարությանը բանակցում է ավագանու անդամների հետ, որ գաղտնի քվեարկության ժամանակ չենթարկվեն Փաշինյանի կամքին։ Մանավանդ որ, եթե տապալվի իրեն անվստահություն հայտնելու նախաձեռնությունը, ապա ավագանին, ըստ օրենքի, մեկ տարի կզրկվի նման նախաձեռնությամբ հանդես գալու իրավունքից։

Սակայն ՔՊ-ականները վստահ են՝ եթե Փաշինյանը նպատակ է դրել ամեն գնով ազատվել Մարությանից, ապա կհրահանգի նկարել քվեաթերթիկները, ինչպես պարտադրում է անել ԱԺ փակ քվեարկությունների ժամանակ, եւ ներկայացնել որպես հավատարմության ապացույց։ Ի դեպ, մեր աղբյուրները փոխանցում են, որ դեռեւս 6 ամիս առաջ Փաշինյանը, Հայկ Մարությանին կառավարական առանձնատանն ընդունելով, ասել է, որ մինչեւ դեկտեմբեր ժամանակ է տալիս՝ «հարթելու թիմի հետ խզած հարաբերությունները, վերականգնելու անդամությունը ՔՊ-ին, հրապարակային աջակցություն հայտնելու իշխանությանը եւ այլն»։ Բայց Մարությանն անգամ հունիսի 20-ից հետո չի ենթարկվել։ Հիմա Փաշինյանի համբերությունը սպառվել է․ նա նախ հոդված հրապարակեց Մարությանի դեմ, ապա հրահանգեց գործընթաց սկսել։
