«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է. Արդեն մի քանի օր է, ինչ հասարակական-քաղաքական շրջանակները քննարկում են ԱԺ նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանի՝ գաղտնի նկարահանած տեսանյութի բովանդակությունը, որտեղ ԱԺ նախագահը խոսում է գերեվարված զինծառայողների մասին անցյալով:
Այս առնչությամբ ԱԺ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության եւ հանրային հարցերի մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Թագուհի Թովմասյանը հայտարարել է. «Ես կարող եմ ասել, որ Ալեն Սիմոնյանը երկրորդել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին, որովհետեւ դա իշխանության հավաքական տեսակետն էր: Որքան էլ նրանք հանդիպում են գերիների ծնողներին եւ փորձում լացակումաց տեսարաններ բեմադրել, որ իրենք մտահոգ են, անում են հնարավորն ու անհնարը, պայքարում են գերիների վերադարձի համար, բայց մենք գիտենք, որ իշխանության ներսում կա այն վերաբերմունքն ու տեսակետը, ինչը բարձրաձայն իբրեւ վրիպակ թույլ է տվել Ալեն Սիմոնյանը: Որպես ԱԺ նախագահ՝ նրա խոսքը խիստ վտանգավոր է այն տեսանկյունից, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը որպես երկիր պարտավոր է իր յուրաքանչյուր քաղաքացու ու նրա իրավունքների պաշտպանության համար սահմանադրական պարտավորությունները կյանքի կոչել:
Ստացվում է, որ Հայաստանը հրաժարվո՞ւմ է իր քաղաքացիներից, նրանց իրավունքների պաշտպանության պարտավորություններից: Սա շատ վտանգավոր է: Անկախ նրանից, թե ինչ հանգամանքում են գերեվարվել մեր հայրենակիցները, ՀՀ իշխանության սահմանադրական պարտականությունն է նրանց ողջ-առողջ Հայաստան բերելը»:
Հարցին, թե ինչպես կարող է իշխանությունը վերադարձնել, եթե Ադրբեջանը հրաժարվում է, Թովմասյանը պատասխանեց. «Նոյեմբերի 9-ի հայտարարության մեջ հստակ ֆիքսված է` գերիների վերադարձ՝ բոլորը` բոլորի դիմաց: Բայց դրանից հետո տեղի է ունեցել 2 փաստաթղթի ստորագրում, մինչդեռ Հայաստանի իշխանությունը պետք է եռակողմ հայտարարության կետերի կատարումը ապահովեր ամբողջապես, նոր սկսեր այլ՝ կոմունիկացիոն թեմաների քննարկումը:
