Ռուս Ուղղափառ եկեղեցու առաջնորդանիստ տաճարը Երևանում նախատեսվում է կառուցել քաղաքում առաջին ուղղափառ տաճարի տեղում, որը չի պահպանվել: Այս մասին «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ի հետ զրույցում հայտնել է Երևանի և Հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ արքեպիսկոպոս Լեոնիդը:
«Հայաստանում ուղղափառների միավորման կենտրոններից մեկը կդառնա առաջնորդանիստ համալիրը, որի շինարարությունը նախատեսվում է իրականացնել Երևանում։ Հատկանշական է, որ Երևանում առաջին ուղղափառ եկեղեցին, որն օծվել է ի պատիվ Սուրբ Աստվածածնի, ժամանակին գտնվել է նույն տեղում, որտեղ այժմ նախատեսվում է համալիրի կառուցումը: Ցավոք, տաճարը, ինչպես շատ քրիստոնեական սրբավայրեր, չի պահպանվել մինչև մեր օրերը», - ասել է արքեպիսկոպոսը։
Հոգևորականի խոսքով՝ վանական համալիրի կառուցման ժամկետների մասին դեռ վաղ է խոսել: Երևանում ռուս ուղղափառ եկեղեցու կենտրոնը Սուրբ Աստվածածին ռուսական եկեղեցին է։ Հայաստանում գործում է ռուս ուղղափառ եկեղեցու ութ տաճար, որոնցից երկուսը՝ 102-րդ ռուսական ռազմաբազայի տարածքում», - հավելել է արքեպիսկոպոսը:
