Այսպիսով, հավի մսով համեղ փլավ պատրաստելու համար անհրաժեշտ է հավի միսը ոչ շատ բարակ կտրատել, լվանալ եւ դնել անձեռոցիկի վրա, որպեսզի ավելորդ ջուրը ներծծվի։ Հաջորդ քայլով պետք է սոխը կտրատել շերտերով, իսկ գազարը՝ խորանարդներով։ Սոխի եւ գազարի զանգվածը հարկավոր է միասին տապակել բուսական յուղի մեջ եւ երբ սոխը ոսկեգույն երանգ կստանա, արդեն կարելի է ավելացնել միսը։ Հինգ րոպե տապակելուց հետո անհրաժեշտ է համեմել աղով եւ պղպեղով։

Այնուհետեւ հարկավոր է լվանալ բրինձը եւ լցնել սոխի ու գազարի զանգվածի մեջ։ Մի քիչ տապակելուց հետո ստացված խառնուրդը թավայից պետք է տեղափոխել կաթսայի մեջ, ջուր ավելացնել (մեկ բաժակ բրնձին՝ կես բաժակ ջուր) եւ կաթսայի կափարիչը փակ եփել մարմանդ կրակի վրա։

Երբ ջուրը կպակասի, պետք է մեկ պճեղ սխտորը ճզմել փլավի մեջ եւ շարունակել եփել ամենացածր կրակի վրամինչեւ ջուրը կներծծվի։

Նշենք, որ փլավի մեջ կարելի է նաեւ չամիչ, սալորաչիր եւ ծիրանի չիր ավելացնել, բայց սրանք պարտադիր բաղադրիչներ չեն։
