Թուրքիան մտադիր է լրացուցիչ «Ս-400» զենիթահրթիռային համակարգեր գնել Ռուսաստանից: Այս մասին ամերիկյան CBS հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը:
«Ապագայում ոչ ոք չի կարող միջամտել, թե ինչ պաշտպանական համակարգեր ենք մձեռք բերում, որ երկրից եւ ինչ մակարդակով: Ոչ ոք չի կարող միջամտել դրան: Միայն մենք կարող ենք նման որոշումներ կայացնել»,- ընդգծել է Էրդողանը:
«Ես ամեն ինչ բացատրեցի նախագահ Բայդենին: Մենք պատրաստվում ենք F-35 ինքնաթիռներ գնել, եւ կվճարենք 1.4 միլիարդ դոլար»,- ասել է Թուրքիայի նախագահը: Նա նշել է, որ Անկարան արդյունքում «F-35-եր այդպես էլ չստացավ»: «Եվ մենք խնդրեցինք վաճառել Patriot զենիթահրթիռային համակարգեր, բայց մեզ դրանք չտվեցին»,- պարզաբանեց Էրդողանը: «Դուք ինձ Patriot չեք տալիս, եւ ես գուցե պաշտպանական համակարգեր գնեմ այլ երկրներից: Ոչ ոք չի կարող միջամտել դրան»,- ասել է նա: Թուրքիայի նախագահը վստահություն է հայտնել, որ ավելի վաղ Սպիտակ տան նախկին ղեկավար Դոնալդ Թրամփը եւ ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը մասամբ համաձայն էին իր դիրքորոշման հետ:
Հարցին՝ արդյո՞ք նա գիտակցում է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն չի կարողանա վստահել Թուրքիային դրա պատճառով, Էրդողանը պատասխանել է. «Ահա թե ինչ կպատասխանեմ. «Դե կներեք»: Ո՞վ կիսի մեր անվտանգության ռիսկերը: Ինչպե՞ս ենք անհրաժեշտ գործողություններ ձեռնարկելու անվտանգության ոլորտում ռիսկերի ֆոնին: Արդյո՞ք մենք պետք է պաշտպանական համակարգերի մատակարարման սպասենք երկրներից, որոնք դրանք մեզ չեն տրամադրում»,- շեշտել է նա:
Խոսելով Թուրքիայի ռազմաօդային ուժերի մասին՝ Էրդողանն արձանագրել է. «Ես երաշխիքներ չունեմ, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները կշարունակեն F-16 ինքնաթիռներ տրամադրել: Եթե դա դադարեցվի, մենք ստիպված կլինենք այլ միջոցներ ձեռնարկել»:
