Ավստրալիայի՝ միջուկային էներգիայով աշխատող սուզանավերի սեփական նավատորմի ստեղծման ցանկությունը ստացել է ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի լայնածավալ աջակցությունը AUKUS եռակողմ գործընկերության շրջանակներում, հայտնում է USA Today-ը:
Ըստ Ավստրալիայի վարչապետ Սքոթ Մորիսոնի՝ Կանբերրայի ջանքերը դրական են գնահատվել ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի «թե Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի, թե Սենատի կողմից»:
«ԱՄՆ-ում մեր դիրքորոշումը հասկանում եւ հարգում են, եւ դա հիմք է հանդիսանում մեր երկրների միջեւ փոխգործակցության նոր մակարդակի համար: Սա թույլ կտա մեզ արագ անցնել համագործակցության հաջորդ փուլ AUKUS գործընկերության շրջանակներում»,- լրագրողների համար առցանց ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ ասել է վարչապետը:
Քաղաքական գործիչը մի շարք հանդիպումներ է անցկացրել Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի եւ Սենատի հետախուզական հանձնաժողովների անդամների հետ, որոնց ժամանակ քննարկվել է ռազմական ոլորտում համագործակցության ընդլայնումը:
«Առջեւում մեծ աշխատանք կա, բայց դա տեղի կունենա համագործակցության եւ փոխըմբռնման ոգով, քանի որ Միացյալ Նահանգները տեսնում եւ հասկանում է այն բանի արժեքը, ինչին մենք ձգտում ենք հասնել եւ պատրաստ ենք միասին աշխատել այդ ուղղությամբ»,- ընդգծել է Մորիսոնը:
