Այսօր Հայաստանի Հանրապետության անկախության 30-րդ տարեդարձն է

30 տարի առաջ այս օրը՝ սեպտեմբերի 21-ին, Խորհրդային Հայաստանի քաղաքացիները պատմական որոշում կայացրին և անկախությունն ընտրեցին որպես երկրի զարգացման միակ ու հնարավոր ճանապարհ։
Խորհրդային Հայաստանի չափահաս բնակչության բացարձակ մեծամասնությունը՝ 94․99 տոկոսը, «այո» ասաց անկախությանը՝ դրական պատասխանելով «համաձա՞յն եք, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը լինի ժողովրդավարական անկախ պետություն` ԽՍՀՄ կազմից դուրս» հարցին։
Հայաստանի Անկախության հռչակագիրն ընդունվել է 1991թ. օգոստոսի 23-ին՝ Հայաստանի Գերագույն Խորհրդի առաջին նստաշրջանում: Այնուհետև խորհրդարանի որոշմամբ՝ 1991թ. սեպտեմբերի 21-ին անցկացվեց ԽՍՀՄ կազմից դուրս գալու և անկախ պետականություն հռչակելու մասին հանրաքվե՝ Խորհրդային ընտրական օրենսգրքով։ Արդեն սեպտեմբերի 23-ին Գերագույն Խորհուրդը Հայաստանը հռչակեց անկախ և ինքնիշխան պետություն:
Անկախության հանրաքվեի արդյունքները հրապարակել է Բաբկեն Արարքցյանը, ՀՀ անկախության մասին Հայաստանի ԳԽ-ի որոշումն ընթերցել է պատգամավոր Արամ Մանուկյանը, Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Վազգեն Առաջինն էլ օրհնել է քաղաքացիների՝ անկախ երկիր ունենալու որոշումը:
Հայաստանի անկախության մասին հռչակագիրը Հայաստանի Հանրապետության հիմնադիր փաստաթուղթն է և Հայաստանի Սահմանադրության հետ նրա հիմնարար երկու փաստաթղթերից մեկը։ Այն Սահմանադրության հետ կազմում է մեկ միասնական ամբողջություն, քանի որ Հայաստանի Սահմանադրությունը խարսխված է Անկախության մասին հռչակագրում ամրագրված սկզբունքների և նպատակների վրա։
1991 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 21-ին Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը միացել է Անկախ պետությունների համագործակցությանը (ԱՊՀ): Հայաստանը լիակատար անկախություն է ձեռք բերել նույն տարվա դեկտեմբերի 26-ին՝ ԽՍՀՄ կազմալուծման արդյունքում:
ՀՀ անկախության 28-րդ տարեդարձի գլխավոր միջոցառումները կանցկացվեն Հայաստանի երկրորդ քաղաքում՝ Գյումրիում:
