«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է

Ժամանակին` մինչ գրիչների հայտնվելը, մատիտը գրելու ամենահարմար միջոցն է եղել: Մատիտին պետք չէ թանաք, թանաքաման և այլ նյութեր, իսկ գծի լայնությունը հեշտությամբ կարելի է փոփոխել` գրաֆիտի սրության աստիճանը փոխելով ... Իհարկե, մատիտի օգտագործումը իր հեշտությամբ առանձնանում է թանաքից և գրիչից, բայց ունի մշտական սրման անհրաժեշտություն: Սկզբում մատիտները սրվել են դանակով, այնուհետև հայտնվել են սովորական մեխանիկական սրիչներ, այնուհետև գործարանի կամ գրասենյակի մասշտաբով հայտնվել են կիսաավտոմատ և ավտոմատ սրման սարքեր: Մատիտսրիչի գյուտի առաջին արտոնագիրը ստացել է ֆրանսիացի մաթեմատիկոս Բեռնարդ Լասսիմոնը 1828 թվականին:

Նա այդ սարքը հորինել է իր կնոջ համար, որը նկարիչ էր: Լասսիմոնի կինը էսքիզներ էր անում, և նրան անընդհատ անհրաժեշտ էին սրված մատիտներ: Այդ կինը շատ նուրբ էր, և մատիտ սրելիս դանակը սարսափելի էր թվում նրա բարակ ձեռքերում: Բերնարդը ստեղծագործ միտք և աշխատելու կարողություն ուներ և մատիտի սրիչ է ստեղծում իր սիրելիի համար: Նրա ստեղծած մատիտսրիչի օրինակը չի պահպանվել: Սակայն պահպանվել է ամերիկյան մատիտսրիչը, որը ստեղծվել է Ուոլտեր Ֆոստերի կողմից 27 տարի անց: Հենց Ֆոստերն է հիմնել աշխարհում մատիտսրիչների արտադրության առաջին ընկերությունը և սկսել դրանց զանգվածային արտադրությունը: 1917 թվականին ԱՄՆ-ում է հորինվել նաև առաջին էլեկտրական մատիտսրիչը:

Դրա աշխատանքի սկզբունքը եղել է նույնը, ինչ մեխանիկականինն է, մեկ կամ մի քանի հարթ կամ գլա նաձև դանակ, որոնք պտտվում են էլեկտրական շարժիչով: Իսկ արդեն 1936 թվականին այդ էլեկտրական մատիտսրիչների օգտագործման մեջ կիրառվել է սրման ավտոմատ որոշման սկզբունքը, այսինքն՝ սարքն անջատվում է, երբ մատիտի ծայրը բավականաչափ երկար է և սրված: Ժամանակի ընթացքում սովորական էլեկտրական մատիտսրիչը դարձել է ցանկացած գրասենյակի անփոխարինելի իր: Սակայն ներկայումս, քանի որ մարդիկ սկսել են գրելու համար ավելի ու ավելի հաճախ համակարգիչներ օգտագործել, մատիտսրիչների պահանջարկն ընկել է:

Չնայած դրան, ներկայումս էլ աշխարհում տարեկան արտադրվում է այդ գրենական պիտույքի մոտ 20 միլիոն օրինակ: Ներկայումս գոյություն ունեն տարբեր կառուցվածքով սրիչներ՝ սկսած ձեռքի սրիչից, որը կարող է տեղավորվել գրպանում կամ գրչատուփում, վերջացրած մեծ չափերի սրիչներով (մեխանիկական և էլեկտրոնային), որոնք տեղադրվում են գրասենյակներում սեղանների վրա։

Վերջիններս միշտ ունենում են ինչ-որ հատուկ մաս մատիտի տաշեղները պահելու համար (նման հարմարանք լինում է նաև որոշ ձեռքի սրիչների վրա)։ Մեխանիկական սրիչները հարմար են օգտագործման համար դպրոցներում, գործուղումների ժամանակ, տանը և այլն: Արվեստագետները, ովքեր սիրում են նկարել մատիտով, ինչպես նաև գրասենյակային աշխատողները օգտագործում են էլեկտրական սրիչներ, որոնք սրում են մատիտները ավելի արագ և լավ:
