Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանությունն ընկել է գահավիժող տնտեսության ետևից։ Գործող իշխանության անխոհեմ վարքը, տնտեսության մասին ունեցած զրո պատկերացումներն ու տեսլականը լուրջ խնդիրներ են հարուցելու Հայաստանի համար։ Աուդիտորների պալատի նախագահ Նաիրի Սարգսյանը դեռ օրեր առաջ էր զգուշացրել, որ կառավարության որոշումը խնդրահարույց է։ Հիշեցնենք, կառավարությունը որոշում է կայացրել, որ այսուհետ բնակարանի ձեռքբերման ժամանակ հիպոտեկային վարկերի տոկոսների փոխհատուցման նպատակով վարձու աշխատողների վճարած եկամտային հարկի գումարի հետվերադարձ չի լինելու։
Նաիրի Սարգսյանը հետևանքների մի ամբողջ խումբ է ներկայացրել, թե ինչի է հանգեցնելու այս անհեռատես և չհաշվարկված որոշումը։ Ըստ աուդիտորների պալատի նախագահի՝ շեշտակի նվազելու է բնակարաններիի պահանջարկը, անկում են ապրելու շինարարության ոլորտը և շինարարության ոլորտին փոխկապակցված մոտավորապես 30 այլ ոլորտներ, շեշտակի աճելու է գործազրկությունը, արտագաղթը, սրվելու են սոցիալական խնդիրները։ Տարիներ շարունակ նախկին իշխանությունների սոցիալական քաղաքականության շնորհիվ միջին խավը կարողանում էր բնակարանային ապահովության հասնել, ոչ լիարժեք, սակայն կային դրա նախապայմանները։
Նաիրի Սարգսյանի գնահատմամբ, այս որոշումը հանգեցնելու է ՀՀ տնտեսության անկման և, որպես հետևանք, Հայաստանի հայաթափման։ Իհարկե, գործող իշխանությունները կարող են գնալ այլ ճանապարհով, փորձել քայլեր ձեռնարկել տնտեսությունը անդունդից դուրս բերելու համար։ Ի դեպ, բոլոր ուղիները մանրամասն նրանց ներկայացվել են թե՛ Նաիրի Սարգսյանի, թե՛ անվանի այլ տնտեսագետների կողմից։ Մինչդեռ, իշխանությունն անում է բոլորովին հակառակը, վստահաբար՝ հենց երկրի տնտեսական վիճակին հարվածելու և արտագաղթը խորացնելու նպատակով։
