ԱՄՆ-ը չպետք է սպառազինություն մատակարարի Ադրբեջանին, որը պարբերաբար ուժ է գործադրում հարևանի դեմ. Ադամ Շիֆ
INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ, Կոնգրեսի հայկական հարցերի հանձնախմբի փոխնախագահ Ադամ Շիֆը (դեմոկրատ, Կալիֆոռնիա) խիստ մտահոգ է Արցախի դեմ Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի սանձազերծած պատերազմից հետո հայ ժողովրդին սպառնացող շարունակական վտանգներով և մասնավորապես այն փաստով, որ Ադրբեջանը շարունակում է սպառնալ և հարձակումներ գործել Հայաստանի վրա:
«Արմենպրես»-ի հարցմանն ի պատասխան կոնգրեսականը ասել է, որ անթույլատրելի է Միացյալ Նահանգների կողմից սպառազինության մատակարարումը մի երկրի, որը պարբերաբար ուժ է գործադրում իր հարևանի նկատմամբ: Այդ պատճառով էլ Կոնգրեսի ստորին պալատն ընդունեց Փալոնի ուղղումը, որը, կոնգրեսական Շիֆի խոսքով, պատասխանատվության է ենթարկում Ալիևի ռեժիմին՝ ցույց տալով, որ ԱՄՆ-ն աչք չի փակելու Ադրբեջանի կողմից Հայաստանի և Արցախի նկատմամբ ուժ գործադրելու վրա:
«Այժմ, առավել քան երբևէ, մենք պետք է հետամուտ լինենք Հայաստանում ժողովրդավարության հետագա ամրապնդմանն ու աջակցությանը: Ահա թե ինչու ես հպարտությամբ միացա իմ գործընկերների նախաձեռնությանը՝ առաջարկելով վերջերս ընդունված Փալոնի ուղղումը, որը պատասխանատվության է ենթարկում Ալիևի ռեժիմին՝ ցույց տալով, որ Ամերիկան աչք չի փակելու այն բանի վրա, որ Ադրբեջանը բռնություն է գործադրում Հայաստանի և Արցախի նկատմամբ: Միացյալ Նահանգները պետք է չմատակարարի սպառազինություն մի երկրի, որը պարբերաբար ուժ է գործադրում իր հարևանի դեմ», - հայտարարել է կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆը՝ ընդգծելով, որ ինքը մի՛շտ կլինի Հայաստանի և Արցախի ժողովրդի կողքին:
Անդրադառնալով ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի այս տարվա ապրիլքսանչորսյան ուղերձին՝ Ադամ Շիֆը ասել է, որ նախագահ Բայդենի որոշումը Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը պաշտոնապես ճանաչելու մասին պատմական իրադարձություն էր իր հազարավոր ամերիկահայ ընտրողների, նրանց ընտանիքների և ամբողջ երկրի հայության համար, որոնք աշխատում, քարոզում, պայքարում և աղոթում էին ճանաչման համար:
«Ես շատ ոգևորված էի նրանից, որ այդ հայտարարությունը արվեց այն ժամանակ, երբ դեռևս կան ցեղասպանությունից փրկվածներ, որոնք ողջ են և կարող են վկայություն տալ», - ասել է կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆը:
ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ, դեմոկրատ Ադամ Շիֆը Միացյալ Նահանգներում Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման ջատագովներից է և հայ ժողովրդի ու Հայաստանի մեծ բարեկամը: Նա Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման մասին 296-րդ բանաձևի համահեղինակն է:
2019 թ. հոկտեմբերի 29-ին ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատը ձայների ճնշող մեծամասնությամբ (405 կողմ, 11 դեմ) ընդունել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին 296-րդ բանաձևի (H.Res.296): 2019 թ. դեկտեմբերի 12-ին ԱՄՆ Սենատը միաձայն ընդունել է համանման՝ 150-րդ բանաձևը (S.Res. 150)։ 2021 թ. ապրիլի 24-ին «Հայոց հիշատակի օրվա» առիթով արված հայտարարության մեջ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը կիրառել է «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն» եզրույթը:
2021 թ. հուլիսի 28-ին ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատը ձայների ճնշող մեծամասնությամբ ընդունել է Կոնգրեսի հայկական հարցերի հանձնախմբի համանախագահ, դեմոկրատ Ֆրենկ Փալոնի ներկայացրած երկկուսակցական ուղղումը (#PalloneAmendment) 2022 թ. բյուջեով նախատեսված արտաքին օգնության մեջ փոփոխություններ անելու և Ադրբեջանին ֆինանսական և ռազմամարզական աջակցության տեսքով հատկացվող ռազմական օգնությունը սահմանափակելու մասին:
Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի գործադիր տնօրեն Արամ Համբարյանը «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում ասել է, որ Փալոնի ուղղումը Վաշինգտոնի առաջին ազդակն էր Ալիևին առ այն, որ նա չի կարող գործեր վարել Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ այնպես, ինչպես սովոր էր նախկինում:
