Դժվար բան է նախագահի լինելը, մի կողմից հասարակական ուժեղ ճնշումն է, որ պահանջում է սահմանին հանգստություն և իրենց որդիների համար խաղաղ ծառայություն, մյուս կողմից արտաքին ազդեցությունն է և իր դիմաց կանգնած մարդու հետ լեզու գտնելու դժվարությունը, որի համար սեփական զինվորի կյանքն ու ժողովրդի կարծիքը ոչինչ է: Անկախ ամեն ինչից՝ հուսանք, որ Սարգսյան-Ալիև այսօրվա հանդիպումից հետո սահմանին խաղաղություն կլինի, բայց ամեն դեպքում մենք պետք է պատրաստ լինենք դեպքերի ցանկացած զարգացման: Հանդիպմանը մեր նախագահն ունի առավելություն՝ նախ իր կյանքի փորձն է, որ ուղղակի մասնակից է եղել Արցախյան պատերազմին, ինչպես նաև մեր բանակն է, որը, չնայած ցավալի ու անդառնալի կորուստներին, շարունակում է պահել մեր սահմանները և վերահսկել իրադրությունը: Կարծում եմ՝ եթե Ալիևը շարունակի նույն կերպ, ապա մենք ստիպված ենք լինելու առաջ գնալ, ես չեմ ուզում պատերազմ, բայց, թերևս, Ադրբեջանին սանձելու միակ ճանապարհը դա է մնում, բնական ինքնապաշտպանություն, որին հասնելու համար մենք, թերևս, ստիպված կլինենք գործողություններ իրականացնել թշնամու թիկունքում: Դժվար է, բայց փաստ, որ խաղաղությունը թանկ բան է։
