Jerusalem Post թերթում հրապարակված հոդվածի համաձայն՝ Թուրքիան քաղաքական նպատակներով օգտագործում է Աֆրինում հիվանդանոցի հրթիռակոծումը՝ երկրի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի և Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի հանդիպմանն ընդառաջ:

Ինչպես ավելի վաղ տեղեկացրել էր Tert.am-ը, Սիրիայի հյուսիսում գտնվող Աֆրին քաղաքում հիվանդանոցի վրա հարձակման հետևանքով 13 մարդ էր զոհվել, 27-ը՝ վիրավորվել: Թուրքական լրատվամիջոցները գրել էին, թե հարձակումն իրականացրել են «Քուրդիստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցության» (PKK) մաս կազմող «Սիրիայի ժողովրդավարական ուժեր»-ի (SDF) մարտիկները, ինչը հերքվել է վերջինիս կողմից։ ՍԺՈՒ-ի մամուլի խոսնակը նշել է, որ իրենք Աֆրինի շրջանում նույնիսկ ուժեր չունեն։

Հոդվածի հեղինակ դոկտոր Սեթ Ֆրանցմանը կարծում է, որ Թուրքիայի կողմից «Սիրիայի ժողովրդավարական ուժեր»-ին մեղադրելը նպատակ ունի ճնշում գործադրել ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի վրա՝ երկուշաբթի կայանալիք Բայդեն-Էրդողան հանդիպմանն ընդառաջ, քանի որ թուրքական կողմը մեղադրում է ԱՄՆ-ին տվյալ ուժերին աջակցելով սեփական անվտանգությունը վտանգելու համար։

Հեղինակը նշում է, որ հարձակման հեղինակն, իր կարծիքով, Սիրիայի կամ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության կառավարությունն է, քանի որ «Սիրիայի ժողովրդավարական ուժեր»-ը հիվանդանոցներին հարվածներ երբեք չի հասցրել, իսկ տվյալ կառավարությունները նախկինում նման քայլերի դիմել են։
