«Ընտրական գործընթացներում քրեական հեղինակությունները, «գողականները» միշտ կարևոր դերակատարում են ունեցել։ Նրանք, որպես կանոն, իշխանություններին են աջակցել, բայց այս անգամ, մեր տեղեկություններով, որոշել են հնարավորինս չեզոք դիրք բռնել։ Համենայնդեպս, քրեական աշխարհի ծանրակշիռ հատվածը որոշել է չմիջամտել նախընտրական գործընթացին՝ որևէ ուժի օգտին չաշխատել։ Կան մի քանիսը, օրինակ, Չաղ Ռուստամ անունով Ռուստամ Ստեփանյանն ու իր բանդան, իրենց իշխանական հովանավորի՝ Հայկ Սարգսյանի ղեկավարությամբ, ակտիվորեն աշխատում են ՔՊ-ի օգտին։

Օրեր առաջ էլ ոստիկանություն են հրավիրվել քրեական ու թաղային մի շարք հեղինակություններ, որոնց առաջարկվել է աջակցել Փաշինյանին։ Նրանց մեծ մասը, սակայն, մերժել է առաջարկը։ Ուժայիններն ասել են՝ այդ դեպքում գոնե խոստացեք, որ Քոչարյանին էլ չեք աջակցելու։ Ոմանք համաձայնել են, ոմանք ասել են՝ ընդդիմադիր ուժերի մեջ ընկերներ ունենք, պետք է օգնենք նրանց, իսկ մի փոքր մասն էլ համարում է, որ «սա հայրենիքի հարց է, ոչ թե քաղաքականության»՝ չեն կարող մի կողմ քաշվել»,-գրում է թերթը։
