«Առևտրային գովազդի կանոններով՝ եթե դուք գովազդում եք ձեր ապրանքը, ապա այդ գովազդային հոլովակում չպիտի լինի որևէ այլ ապրանքի հակագովազդ։ Օրենքն այդ առումով պարզ ասում է՝ պատմիր, որքան լավն ես դու, ոչ թե՝ որքան վատն է դիմացինդ։

Լրատվական դաշտում նման կանոններ չեն գործում։ Սովորաբար, լրագրողները չեն սահմանափակվում միայն հետաքրքիր պատմություններ փնտրելով և դրանք ընթերցողներին ներկայացնելով՝ նրանք նաև ձգտում են ցույց տալ, թե որքան խիզախ են, անկախ և ինչպիսի անխոնջ գաղափարական մարտիկներ են՝ ի տարբերություն ճիշտ հակառակ մարդկային և քաղաքացիական հատկանիշներն ունեցող գործընկերների։

Բայց դա մանրուք է և մանկապարտեզ՝ համեմատած քաղաքական դաշտում մրցակցության հետ։ Այստեղ ակնհայտ է, որ դու պետք է ցույց տաս քո անվերապահ արժանիքները՝ միայն մնացածների ճչացող թերությունների ֆոնի վրա։ Հետևաբար դու պարտավոր ես խոսել ոչ թե այն մասին, թե, օրինակ, ինչպես պետք է կազմակերպել կայանատեղիներ քաղաքում (եթե, իհարկե, համաձայն ես, որ ինչ-որ կերպ պետբ է կազմակերպել, ոչ թե ամեն մեկը կանգնի՝ որտեղ ուզում է), այլ հնարավորինս էմոցիոնալ եղանակով բացականչես՝ «վայ, թալանչիներ, կերաք էս ժողովրդին ձեր կարմիր գծերով»։ Նախ՝ այդպես ավելի հեշտ է ձեռք բերել «ժողովրդի մասին մտածողի» համբավ, երկրորդ՝ կազմակերպման մասին մտածելու համար պետք են որոշակի մտավոր ճիգեր, որոնք գործադրելու ցանկություն կամ հնարավորության  չկա»,–գրում է թերթի խմբագիրը։
