ՀՀ երրորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ուղերձ է հղել Հանրապետության տոնի առթիվ:

Ուղերձը ներկայացնում ենք ստորեւ.

«Ցոյց տանք աշխարհին, որ Հայը ազատ, անկախ ապրելու իրաւունք ունի։ Այժմ կամ երբէք»,– 1918 թվականին՝ հայության համար օրհասական ժամանակաշրջանում, մեր ժողովրդին ուղղված՝ Արամ Մանուկյանի այս կոչը, ցավոք, ավելի քան հարյուր տարի անց արդիական է:

Մեկ դար առաջ հուսահատության եւ բնաջնջման եզրին կանգնած հայ ժողովուրդը ազգային գիտակցության եւ պատմական բարձր պատասխանատվության զգացումով իր մեջ ուժ գտավ մի վերջին գերբնական ճիգով կանգնելու թշնամու դեմ եւ հետ շպրտելու նրան:

Այն ժամանակ էլ իշխանությունների մեջ կային կամազուրկ, վախկոտ, պարտվողական տրամադրություններով անձինք, որոնք ստեղծված ռազմաքաղաքական ծանր իրավիճակում որոշել էին առանց դիմադրության հայրենիքը հանձնել թշնամուն, պատրաստ էին Երեւանի բնակչությանը տարհանել ու դիրքավորվել Քանաքեռի բարձունքում։

Սակայն գտնվեցին պատիվ եւ քաջություն ունեցող ուժեր ու անհատներ, որոնք թշնամուն հանձնվելը անարգանք համարեցին եւ Երեւանի ազգային խորհրդի ղեկավար Արամ Մանուկյանի գլխավորությամբ չենթարկվեցին այդ ստորացուցիչ որոշմանն ու վճռական պայքարի կոչեցին ժողովրդին:

«Սպաները գնում են անձնատուր լինելու: Թող գնա՜ն: Իսկ ես գնում եմ մեռնելու: Ով դեռ իրեն բարոյապես մեռած չի համարում, թող հետեւի ինձ»,– նույն այդ օրերին Դիլիջանի Սուրբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցու բակում հավաքված հազարավոր հուսահատված մարդկանց ու թշնամուն սպիտակ դրոշ պարզած դասալիքներին աննահանջ պայքարի էր մղում եւ սեփական օրինակով քաջալերում մեր նշանավոր հերոսներից եւս մեկը՝ Գարեգին Նժդեհը:

Պայքարելու եւ ոչ մի դեպքում չհանձնվելու կոչ էին անում մայիսյան հերոսամարտերի մեր մյուս քաջորդիները՝ Երեւանի զորամասի հրամանատար, գեներալ Մովսես Սիլիկյանը, Սարդարապատի ճակատամարտի հերոսներ Դանիել եւ Պողոս Բեկ-Փիրումյանները, Թովմաս Նազարբեկյանը, Մայր Աթոռի միաբանները՝ Գեւորգ Ե Սուրենյանց կաթողիկոսի գլխավորությամբ եւ հայրենիքի նվիրյալ այլ զավակներ:

Հերոսների ու վախկոտ կապիտուլյանտների, ազգի նվիրյալների ու ապազգային տեսակի այդ պայքարում հաղթեց հայոց ազատասեր եւ հերոսական ոգին:

Հայ ազգը իր հայրենիքն ու պատիվը հերոսաբար պաշտպանելու փառահեղ օրինակ ցույց տվեց, որը դարձավ դարավոր ընդմիջումից հետո հայկական պետության վերականգնման փայլուն սկիզբ:

1918 թվականի մայիսյան հաղթանակները Սարդարապատի, Բաշ-Ապարանի, Ղարաքիլիսայի ճակատամարտերում նոր եւ փառավոր էջ բացեցին հայ ժողովրդի պատմության մեջ:

Հավերժ փա՛ռք եւ խոնարհո՛ւմ մեր հերոսների պայծառ հիշատակին:

Պատմական այս անդրադարձը զուգահեռներ անցկացնելու եւ ներկայիս նույնքան ճակատագրական իրավիճակում սթափ դատելու ու կողմնորոշվելու նպատակ ունի՝ կա՛մ մեր հերոս նախնիների օրինակով ընդվզում ենք կապիտուլյանտ իշխանությունների պետականակործան քաղաքականության դեմ եւ մենք էլ մեր հերթին սերունդներին ենք փոխանցում ազատ, ինքնիշխան, հզոր Հայաստան, կա՛մ արժանանում ենք բացառապես պատմության դասագրքերում մնացած ազգերի ճակատագրին:
