INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարությունը՝ Պենտագոնը, պատասխանել է «Լուրեր»-ի հարցմանը՝ Սյունիքում Ադրբեջանի սադրանքների առնչությամբ:
«Ինչպիսի՞ն է Պենտագոնի դիրքորոշումը ՀՀ նկատմամբ ագրեսիայի հարցում։ Հաշվի առնելով, որ ԱՄՆ վարչակազմը պահանջում է ադրբեջանական զորքի հետքաշում՝ ընթացող ագրեսիան ինչպե՞ս կարող է անդրադառնալ Վաշինգտոնից Բաքվին հատկացվող ռազմական օժանդակության վրա» հարցին Եվրասիական հարցերով Պենտագոնի խոսնակ Անտոն Սեմերլոթի անունից ստացված պատասխանում նշված է.
«Մենք մեծ ուշադրությամբ հետևում ենք Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի՝ դեմարկացիայի չենթարկված սահմանի երկայնքով տեղի ունեցող իրադարձություններին:
Մանրակրկիտ ուսումնասիրում ենք Ադրբեջանին հատկացվող ցանկացած աջակցություն՝ համոզվելու, որ այն չի խանգարում կամ խոչընդոտում Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղ բանակցային գործընթացին միտված ջանքերին ու չի ծառայի Հայաստանի դեմ հարձակողական նպատակներին:
Ադրբեջանին հատկացվող ոչ մահաբեր անվտանգային աջակցությունը բխում է Միացյալ Նահանգների ազգային անվտանգության շահերից և Ադրբեջանին հնարավորություն է տալիս ապահովել հարավային և ծովային սահմանների անվտանգությունը՝ ահաբեկիչների, զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքի և այլ ապօրինի առևտրի սպառնալիքները նվազեցնելու համար:
Օրինակ՝ վերջերս մեր տրամադրած ռենտգենային սկաներների շնորհիվ իրանական սահմանին հայտնաբերվել է հերոինի մեծ խմբաքանակ»:
