Հարյուրամյակներ շարունակ հայ հանրույթի ամենաառանցքային մտահոգության առարկան ընդամենը գոյությունը պահպանելն էր, այսինքն` գոյատեւելը, ողջ մնալը։ Պետականազուրկ ազգի համար սա ավելի քան օրինաչափ վարքագիծ է։
Բայց 1991-ին մենք հնարավորություն ստացանք լինել ու անել ավելին, քան պարզունակ գոյությունն է։ Անկախության հռչակումով եւ պատերազմում հաղթելով` մենք փակեցինք ապագա ունենալ-չունենալու պարզունակ ու կենցաղային էջը։ Հիմա արդեն մեր խնդիրը շատ ավելի բարդ էր ու բազմաշերտ` ստեղծել արդյունավետ եւ արդար պետություն, զարգացած տնտեսություն, մարտունակ բանակ եւ այսպես շարունակ։
Իսկապես, 30 տարվա ճանապարհ անցած պետությունում քաղաքական դիսկուրսը պետք է լիներ տնտեսության, ազատ շուկայական հարաբերությունների, ռեֆորմների, առողջապահական ու կրթական համակարգերի, սոցիալական արդարության եւ տարատեսակ այլ հիմնախնդիրների մասին։
Բայց ի՞նչ եղավ. Հայաստանում իշխանության եկավ մի քաղաքական ուժ, որը հայ ժողովրդին նորից վերադարձրեց գոյությունը պահպանելու, ապագա ունենալ-չունենալու պարզունակ եւ կենցաղային խնդրին։ Նրանք կոտրեցին պետության ողնաշարը, կործանեցին եւ ապականեցին բոլոր պետական ավանդույթները եւ այդքանից հետո լուրջ դեմքի արտահայտությամբ, հոխորտանքով եւ ցինիզմով գոռում են, թե Հայաստանը ապագա ունի։ Այն դեպքում, երբ այդ հարցը վաղուց արդեն փակ էր եւ ոչ ակտուալ։
Մեծ հաշվով այս պնդումն էլ է անհեթեթ, քանի որ ապագան ժամանակի անխուսափելի ընթացքն է, միեւնույն է` այն գալիս է ու գալու է, բայց այս պարագայում խնդիրը ոչ թե ապագան է, այլ դրա բովանդակությունը։
Ինչպիսի՞ ապագա ենք մենք ակնկալում ու կանխատեսում։ Եթե մեր ընթացքը դեպի ապագա անցնելու է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի եւ ՔՊ-ի առաջնորդությամբ, ապա, վստահաբար, դա աղետի եւ կործանման ապագա է։
Ընդհանրապես ապագայի վերաբերյալ գործող իշխանության պատկերացումները ձեւախեղված են, քանի որ նրանք ներկայից դեպի ապագա ընթացքը պատկերացնում են անցյալի միջով։ Այսինքն, նրանք անպայման պետք է ներկայից հասնեն անցյալ, որ այդտեղից էլ ձգվեն դեպի ապագա։ Բայց դա անհնար արկածախնդրություն է, քանի որ մարդու ուժերից վեր է փոխել ժամանակի եւ տարածության օրենքները։
Այսինքն, այս իշխանությանը վիճակված է հավերժ խցանված մնալ անցյալում։ Այս իմաստով` նրանք տեղ չունեն Հայաստանի ու հայ ժողովրդի ապագայում, նրանք հեռացող անցյալականություն են եւ ոչինչ ավելին։
Մեր ժողովուրդն արժանի է առաջ նայող եւ իր ուղին իր ձեռքով գծող իշխանության։
