Պաշտպանության բանակը հայտարարություն է տարածել, որում ասվում է.

«Ի պատասխան հայկական լրատվամիջոցներում լայնորեն տարածվող ֆեյսբուքյան օգտատեր Հասմիկ Մարտիրոսյանի՝ «Հադրութում զոհված զինծառայող Ռոբերտ Կարապետյանի «Արիության» մեդալը տուն է բերել տաքսու վարորդը» վերտառությամբ գրությանը՝ անհրաժեշտ ենք համարում տեղեկացնել հետևյալը.

Նախ՝ նշվածը իրականության հետ որևէ աղերս չունի:

Երկրորդ՝ իրականում Ռոբերտ Կարապետյանի ոչ թե «Արիության համար», այլ՝ «Մարտական ծառայություն» մեդալը հարազատներին է հանձնել ոչ թե տաքսու վարորդը, այլ լեյտենանտ Էդգար Ապրեսյանը, որը մարտական գործողությունների ժամանակ եղել է այն ստորաբաժանմանը աջակցող դասակի հրամանատարը, որի անձնակազմի ներկայացուցիչներից է եղել Ռոբերտ Կարապետյանը:

Նախապես լ-տ Ապրեսյանը ցանկացել է մեդալը հանձնել զոհված զինծառայողի հարազատներին նրանց հարկի տակ, սակայն ծնողների կողմից մերժում ստանալուց հետո այն հանձնել է զոհված զինծառայողի շիրմաքարի մոտ վերջինիս հորը:

Զոհված զինծառայողների պարգևների հանձնման գործընթացը շարունակական է և այն իրականացվում է ոչ միայն զորամաս և ավելի բարձր օղակների հրամկազմի, այլև անմիջական հրամանատարների և մարտական ընկերների մասնակցությամբ:

Կոչ ենք անում զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների ներկայացուցիչներին և սոցիալական ցանցերի անհատ օգտատերերին չշահարկել մեր ժողովրդի համար անչափ զգայուն նշանակություն ունեցող թեմաները և զերծ մնալ չստուգված տեղեկություններ հրապարակելուց»:
