Ամերիկյան The National Interest ամսագիրը լայնածավալ հոդված է հրապարակել Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևի և նրա  նախաձեռնությամբ Բաքվում բացված «պուրակ-թանգարանի» մասին: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հոդվածագիր Մայքլ Ռուբինը Իլհամ Ալիևին համեմատել է Իրաքի նախկին նախագահ Սադամ Հուսեյնի հետ, իսկ Բաքվում բացված «պուրակ-թանգարանը»՝ Բաղդադի «Կադիսիայի թրեր» հաղթակամարի հետ:

«Ալիևը, ով երբեք չի ծառայել բանակում, նույնիսկ երբ իր հասակակիցները կռվում էին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի առաջին պատերազմում, զբոսնում է զինվորական համազգեստով ՝ ցուցադրելով հայկական ռազմատեխնիկան և հայ զինվորների մոմե մոդելները: Բաքվի պուրակի կենտրոնական տարրը սպանված եւ գերեվարված հայ զինվորների սաղավարտներից պատրաստված կամարն է: Այն փաստը, որ Ադրբեջանը շարունակում է ապօրինի կերպով պահել  ռազմագերիների եւ առևանգված քաղաքացիական անձանց, որոնցից մի քանիսին նա կարող էր սպանել գերության մեջ, ընդգծում է ցուցադրության անհամությունը»,- նշում է հոդվածագիրը:

Լրագրողը ընթերցողին հիշեցրել է, թե ինչպես էր կառուցվել Բաղդադում «Կադիսիայի թրեր» հաղթակամարը, որը խորհրդանշում էր Սադամ Հուսեյնի Իրաքի հաղթանակը իրանա-իրաքյան պատերազմում: Հաղթակամարը պատրաստված էր պողպատից, որը ստացվել էր զոհված իրանցի զինվորների սաղավարտներից և զենքից: Ռուբինը նշում է, որ այն ժամանակվա Հուսեյնի ելույթը քիչ էր տարբերվում Ալիևի ելույթից:

«Խիզախ իրաքցիները կատարել են լեգենդար սխրանքներ՝ ի պաշտպանություն իրենց հողի և սուրբ հավատքի: Մենք որոշել ենք, որ իրաքցիները կանցնեն իրենց ծածանվող դրոշի ներքո, որոնք պաշտպանված են իրենց սրերով, որոնք կտրել են ագրեսորների պարանոցը: Յուրաքանչյուր ոք, ով կայցելի ռազմավարների զբոսայգի, կտեսնի մեր բանակի ուժը, կտեսնի մեր կամքի ուժը և այն, թե որքան դժվար էր հաղթանակի հասնել», - հիշեցնում է հոդվածագիրը Հուսեյնի խոսքերը:
