Պատերազմը, իր դաժան հետևանքներով, նաև հանրային գիտակցությունը բաժանեց տարբեր բևեռների: Հայ հանրույթը ցանկացած երևույթ կապում և կապելու է պատերազմի հետ, նրա հետևանքների հետ, հղում կատարելով անցյալին՝ մեղադրվում են ու մեղադրվելու են բոլորը, և տպավորություն է, թե պատերազմը նաև ջրբաժան է՝ իրարից զատելու անցյալն ու ներկան, հայրենադավն ու հայրենասերը, հայկականն ու թշնամականը:

Սակայն դուք չեք նկատե՞լ, որ անգամ այս ջրբաժանը գծվում է ըստ քաղաքական շահերի, ըստ այսօրէական քաղաքական նախասիրությունների: Օրինակ, երբ ապրիլյան պատերազմի օրերին փոխնախարար, քաղաքական գործիչ Խաչիկ Ասրյանն իր ջոկատով մեկնում էր ճակատ և, ականատեսների վկայությամբ, հայրենասիրության իրական օրինակներ էր ցույց տալիս, հետագա տարիներին մենք քանի՞ անգամ այդ օրինակը քարոզեցինք, ցուցադրեցինք հանրությանը, թե ինչպես պետք է իրեն պահի իր պետությունը սիրող փոխնախարարը: Զրո անգամ: Որովհետև Խաչիկ Ասրյանը չդարձավ մարդկանց քաղաքական նախասիրությունների գերին, չսպասարկեց առօրյա քաղաքական շահերը և չտրվեց զանգվածային փսիխոզի ազդեցությանը:

Նույնը 44-օրյա պատերազմում, երբ Խաչիկ Ասրյանը կրկին բացառիկ դաս տվեց՝ իր վրա վերցնելով Արցախի կարևորագույն հատվածներից մեկի պաշտպանությունը և իրականացրեց պատվով ու բարձր պատասխանատվությամբ, քանի՞ անգամ մենք ջրբաժանի կարմիր գիծ դարձրեցինք քաղաքական գործիչների ունեցած անձնական ներդրումը համազգային այս գոյամարտում: Զրո անգամ: Բայց կերանք կուտը և տրվեցինք հին ու նոր, նախկին - ներկա, Նիկոլ - Ռոբերտ կեղծ դիսկուրսին:

Ու մենք երկար ժամանակ նորմալ պետություն չենք ունենա, եթե ջրբաժանները գծվեն ոչ թե երկրի համար ներդրված անձնական ջանքերի, այլ ստամոքսի գռմռոցի և կալորիաների համակցությամբ:
