Քիչ առաջ ավազակային հարձակում է տեղի ունեցել Երևանում: Ժամը 15:20-ի սահմաններում քաղաքացին դիմել է ոստիկանության Մաշտոցի բաժին և հայտնել, որ զինված ու դիմակավորված հանցագործը ներս է մտել Բաշինջաղյան 65 տուն և զենքի սպառնալիքով ներսում բռնություն է գործադրում տան անդամների նկատմամբ: Ինչպես դեպքի վայրից հայտնում է ֆոտոլրագրող Գագիկ Շամշյանը, բավականին օպերատիվորեն դեպքի վայր են ժամանել ոստիկանության Մաշտոցի բաժնի աշխատակիցները՝ Մաշտոցի ոստիկանապետ Դավիթ Սարգսյանի գլխավորությամբ: Օպերատիվ են գործել նաև 1-03 շտապ օգնության մի քանի բրիգադները: Նշված տնից հրազենային վնասվածքով երիտասարդ մի աղջկա են տեղափոխել հիվանդանոց և ավազակային հարձակումը կատարողին:
Վերջինս «Արմենիա» բժշկական կենտրոնի վերակենդանացման բաժանմունքում գիտակցության չգալով՝ մահացել է, որքան էլ որ բժիշկներն անհրաժեշտ գործողություններ ձեռնարկեցին նրա կյանքը փրկելու համար: Գ. Շամշյանի տեղեկություններով՝ նշված տունը պատկանում է հայտնի գործարար, «Շանթի Յուրա» մականվամբ Յուրա Ղարիբյանին: Հանցագործին վնասազերծել է տանտիրուհին, երբ տականքը կրակոց է արձակել երիտասարդ աղջկա վրա ու տանտիրուհին, վտանգելով իր կյանքը, կարելի է ասել, փրկել է տան բոլոր անդամներին: Ավազակային հարձակում կատարողը հրազենային վնասվածք է ստացել, ինչն էլ դարձել է նրա մահվան պատճառը:
Դեպքի վայր են ժամանել Երևանի ոստիկանության պետ, ոստիկանության գեներալ-մայոր Աշոտ Կարապետյանը, Երևանի ոստիկանապետի օպերգծով տեղակալ, ոստիկանության գնդապետ Սարգիս Մարտիրոսյանը, ոստիկանության քրեական հետախուզության գլխավոր վարչության պետ Գագիկ Ավետիսյանը, նույն վարչության պետի առաջին տեղակալ Սամվել Ասատրյանը, նույն վարչության 2-րդ վարչության պետ Ալիկ Մարգարյանը, ոստիկանության փորձաքրեագիտական վարչության փորձաքրեագետները: Դեպքի վայր է ժամանել նաև Հայաստանի քննչական կոմիտեի Երևանի քննչական վարչության պետ Ջոն Ֆարխոյանը, Հայաստանի քննչական կոմիտեի Երևանի քննչական վարչության Աջափնյակ և Դավիթաշեն վարչական շրջանների քննչական բաժնի մեծ թվով քննիչներ՝ բաժնի պետ Սահակ Գրիգորյանի գլխավորությամբ: Փաստի առթիվ հարուցվել է քրեական գործ՝ ՀՀ քր.օր.-ի՝ ավազակային հարձակում և ապօրինի զենք-զինամթերք կրելու հատկանիշներով: Գ. Շամշյանի տեղեկություններով՝ հանցագործը երբ կրակոցներ է արձակել տան տերերի ուղղությամբ, տերերից մեկը ինքնապաշտպանվելով` ըստ տեղեկությունների` դանակով հարվածել է նրան: Ֆոտոլրագրողի տեղեկություններով` պարզվել է, որ ավազակային հարձակում կատարող և հիվանդանոցում մահացած անձը Գևորգ Սարգսյանն էր, ով, ըստ տեղեկությունների` Արմավիրի մարզում գործող տաքսի- ծառայություններից մեկի տնօրենն էր:

Ծանուցում. Ենթադրյալ հանցանքի մեջ կասկածվողը կամ մեղադրվողը համարվում է անմեղ, քանի դեռ նրա մեղավորությունն ապացուցված չէ ՀՀ քրեական դատավարության օրենսգրքով սահմանված կարգով` դատարանի` օրինական ուժի մեջ մտած դատավճռով:
