ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը ուրբաթ չեղարկել է պատժամիջոցները, որոնք նրա նախորդը՝ Դոնալդ Թրամփը, սահմանել էր Միջազգային քրեական դատարանի բարձրաստիճան ներկայացուցիչների դեմ, հայտնում է Associated Press-ը: 

ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենը իր հայտարարության մեջ շեշտել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն նախկինի պես «կտրականապես համաձայն չէ» դատարանի որոշ գործողություններին:

«Մենք, սակայն, կարծում ենք, որ այդ դեպքերի վերաբերյալ մեր մտավախություններն ավելի լավ կլիներ լուծել դիվանագիտության միջոցով, այլ ոչ թե պատժամիջոցներ սահմանելու ճանապարհով»,- նշել է Բլինքենն իր հայտարարության մեջ:

Պատժամիջոցների վերացումը դարձել է այն բանի վերջին ազդանշանը, որ Բայդենի վարչակազմը մտադիր է վերադառնալ բազմակողմանի հուն: Թրամփի վարչակազմը այդպես էլ ներողություն չի խնդրել այն պատճառով, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները հանել է բազմաթիվ միջազգային ինստիտուտներից ու համաձայնագրերից, եւ խիստ քննադատության է ենթարկել մյուս երկրներին, այդ թվում՝ ՄՔԴ-ին, նրանց համարելով արատավոր եւ ԱՄՆ շահերի դեմ գործող:

Պաշտոնը ստանձնելու պահից Բայդենի վարչակազմը կրկին միացել է Առողջապահության համաշխարհայիրն կազմակերպությանը, վերսկսել է համագործակցությունը ՄԱԿ մարդու իրավունքների խորհրդի հետ, վերադարձել է Փարիզի կլիմայի համաձայնագրին, իսկ ուրբաթ բանակցություններ է սկսել՝ ուղղված Իրանի միջուկային գործարքին վերադարձին: Թրամփը ԱՄՆ-ն հանել էր բոլոր նշված համաձայնագրերից:

ՄՔԴ-ն ստեղծվել է պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու համար այն անձանց, որոնք կատարել են ռազմական հանցագործություններ եւ մարդկության դեմ հանցագործություններ, այն դեպքերում, երբ համարժեք դատական համակարգեր չկան: ԱՄՆ-ն չի միացել ՄՔԴ-ին, որն իր աշխատանքը սկսել է 2002 թվականին այն բանից հետո, երբ բավարար թվով երկրներ վավերացրել են այն ստեղծած պայմանագիրը, մտավախություն ունենալով, որ դատարանը կարող է օգտագործվել «ամերիկյան զորքերին եւ պաշտոնատարներին քաղաքական դրդապատճառներով հետապնդելու համար»:
