Չեմ կարծում, թե Հայաստանում քաղաքական ճգնաժամը կլուծվեր, եթե ես որեւէ մեկի կողմն անցնեի: Այս մասին РБК-ին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է Հայաստանի նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը՝ պատասխանելով այն հարցին, թե չի կարծում արդյոք ինքը, որ երկրում քաղաքական ճգնաժամը կլուծվեր, եթե նա որեւէ մեկի կողմն անցներ:

«Չեմ կարծում, որ քաղաքական ճգնաժամը կլուծվոր: Սխալ որոշումները չեն լուծում ճգնաժամը: Երկրորդ` որպես նախագահ, ես ծառայում եմ պետությանը, եւ այս պահին ծառայում եմ այս Սահմանադրության համաձայն, նույնիսկ եթե ես ինքս եմ քննադատում այս Սահմանադրությունը:

Բայց պառլամենտական, վարչապետական հանրապետությունում նախագահը չպետք է որեւէ մեկի կողմն անցնի: Ես կարող եմ համակրանք ունենալ... Բայց այդ բոլոր համակրանքները պետք է մի կողմ թողնեմ: Հակառակ դեպքում ես նախագահ չեմ: Այդ դեպքում ես պետք է հրաժարական տամ եւ զբաղվեմ քաղաքականությամբ: Ընտրեմ սպիտակներին կամ սեւերին... Ես նախընտրեցի հայկական եռագույնը:

Առավել եւս Հայաստանի բնակչության բացարձակ մեծամասնությունը չի կողմնորոշվել: Նրանք ոչ սպիտակ են, ոչ էլ սեւ: Կա վիճակագրություն: Բայց եթե ես պետք է որեւէ մեկի կողմն անցնեմ, ես պետք է հեռանամ այս շենքից: Իսկ նախագահը, անկախ իր համակրանքներից, պետք է գործի Սահմանադրության համաձայն եւ երկրի շահերից ելնելով»,- նշել է նա:
