ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը դեմոկրատներին մեղադրել է «երկիրը կործանելու» մեջ: «Նրանց չի կարելի թույլ տալ մեր երկիրը կործանել, իսկ հարավային սահմանին նրանք մեր երկիրը կործանում են, բենզինի գներն աճում են: Մենք էներգոանկախ ենք: Ես հասել եմ դրան»,- ասել է նա Fox News-ի հետ հարցազրույցում:

«Բայց երկու ամիս հետո դա չի լինի, եւ մենք կտեսնենք, թե ինչ կկատարվի բենզինի գնի հետ: Այն [բարձրանում] է ավելի քան մեկ դոլարով, սա նման է մարդկանց հարկերի բարձրացմանը... Սա սարսափելի է»,- ասել է նա:

Թրամփը նոր վարչակազմին քննադատել է նաեւ Չինաստանի նկատմամբ քաղաքականության պատճառով՝ անցած շաբաթ Անկորիջում (Ալյասկա) ԱՄՆ եւ Չինաստանի բարձրաստիճան դիվանագետների հանդիպումն անվանելով «բացարձակ խայտառակություն»:

ԱՄՆ նախագահի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջեյքոբ Սալիվանը եւ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենը դիվանագիտական հանդիպում էին անցկացրել Չինաստանի բարձրաստիճան դիվանագետ Յան Ցզեչիի հետ: Հանդիպման ժամանակ վերջինը նշել էր ԱՄՆ-ում ռասիզմի խնդրի մասին:

Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ իր վարչակազմի օրոք «երբեք տեղի չէր ունենա նման բան»: «Սա մեր երկրի համար բացարձակ խայտառակություն էր: Ես չէի կարողանում դրան հավատալ,- վրդովվել է Թրամփը: - Իմ թիմի հետ երբեք ոչ մեկը չի խոսել այդ կերպ... Եթե նրանք դա անեին, ես սակագները կկրկնապատկեի, ինչը, անկեղծ ասած, ցանկացած դեպքում մենք, հավանաբար, պետք է անեինք: Ես Չինաստանից միլիարդավոր դոլար եմ ստացել: Ամեն ինչ իսկապես լավ էր ընթանում: Եվ Չինաստանը մեզ հարգում էր: Նրանք երբեք մեզ հետ չեն խոսել այնպես, ինչպես խոսեցին [Բայդենի թիմի հետ]»:
