Գիտնականները վաղուց ապացուցել են, որ թույլ սեռի ներկայացուցիչներն ավելի ուժեղ են նվերներ ընտրելիս: Apotheken Umschau առողջապահական ամսագրի պատվերով անցկացված հետազոտության արդյունքները պարզություն են մտցրել այդ դրսևորման պատճառների մեջ:

Գերմանացի սոցոլոգների հարցումը ցույց է տվել, որ կանայք հազվադեպ են հանպատրաստի նվերներ գնում: Նրանք նախապես մտածում են, ծանր ու թեթև անում, մինչև հանձնելը մանրամասն մտածում բոլոր տարբերակների մասին: Կանանց 63% դա անում է տոներից երեք շաբաթ առաջ:

Տղամադիկ վարվում են ճիշտ հակառակ կեպ: Նրանց քիչ է հետաքրքրում նվեր ստացողի ցանկությունները և հաճախ գնում կատարում են վերջին պահին: Շտապողականությունը, երկար հերթերը, ժամանակի բացակայությունը նրանց թույլ չեն տալիս ճիշտ ընտրություն կատարել: Տղամարդկանց միայն 40% է նախօրոք մտածում նվերների մասին: Այս թիվը վերլուծելիս պետք է նկատի ունենալ, որ հետազոտությունն անցկացվել է Գերմանայում. հայտնի է, որ այս երկրի բնակիչները շատ հաշվենկատ են: Անշուշտ, եթե հարցումն ացկացվեր մեկ այլ երկրում, այդ տոկոսն ավելի ցածր կլիներ:

Ամենաարդյունավետ նվերը գերմանացիները համարում են կոսմետիկայի, հագուստի, խաղալիքների խանութների նվեր-քարտերը կամ, պարզապես, գումար են նվիրում: Իսկ ահա ռուս սոցեոլոգների ուսումնասիրությունները ցույց են տվել, որ ռուսները Նոր տարուն նախընտրում են «հուշանվերներ» նվիրել միմյանց:
