POLITICSՀՅԴ-ական գործիչ Գեղամ Մանուկյանը գրել է. «նիկոլն այսօր սասունցիների ժառանգների գյուղերում թութակի պես հատուկ էր կրկնում Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի հետ հետագա հարաբերությունների իր բանաձևը՝ «Իրողությունը հետևյալն է՝ մենք էս տարածաշրջանում պետք ա ապրենք, բայց էս տարածաշրջանում մեր ապրելու կամ էս տարածաշրջանի ամենամեծ խնդիրը որն ա։ Խնդիրը հետևյալն ա, որ մեզ ընկալում են որպես թշնամի և մենք ընկալում ենք որպես թշնամի։ Քանի մեզ ընկալում են որպես թշնամի, էնքան մենք ընկալում ենք որպես թշնամի։ Ինչքան մենք ընկալում ենք որպես թշնամի, էնքան մեզ ընկալում են որպես թշնամի։ Եվ նույնիսկ շատ դժվար ա գտնել էն մեկնարկային կետը, որից էս պրոցեսը սկսվել ա»։
