Սպիտակ տանը հայտնել են Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու Բայդենի մտադրության մասին
INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը նախատեսում է կատարել Առաջին աշխարհամարտի տարիներին իրագործված Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու իր նախընտրական խոստումը, հունական Kathimerini-ին ասել է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղարը:
Ի պատասխան սենատոր Բոբ Մենենդեսի նախաձեռնած եւ երկու կուսակցություններից 36 այլ սենատորների կողմից ստորագրված նամակին արձագանքելու մասին հարցին՝ մամուլի քարտուղարն ասել է, որ Բայդենի վարչակազմը պարտավորություն է ստանձնել ապահովելու, որ նման վայրագությունները այլեւս չկրկնվեն, եւ որ անցյալում կատարված վայրագությունները ճանաչելը դրա կարեւոր մասն է:
Այս քայլը, հավանաբար, է՛լ ավելի մեծ լարվածություն կառաջացնի Թուրքիայի հետ ԱՄՆ հարաբերություններում, նշում է Ahval-ը:
Ավելի վաղ 37 սենատորներից բաղկացած խումբը միացել էր Սենատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների կոմիտեի նախագահ Ռոբերտ Մենենդեսին`ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենին կոչ անելով հետեւել Կոնգրեսի օրինակին` Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը լիովին եւ պաշտոնապես ճանաչելու գործում, հաղորդում է Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախումբը (ANCA):
«Նախագահ Բայդենը, Սենատում իր ծառայության ցուցակի եւ Պալատի ու Սենատի երկկուսակցական բանաձեւերի շնորհիվ, որոնց նա աջակցել է որպես թեկնածու, բոլոր հնարավորություններն ունի մերժելու «բերանները փակելու» թուրքական կանոնը, համառորեն չընդունելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության շարունակական դատապարտումը եւ ոգեկոչումը ամբողջ ԱՄՆ կառավարության մասշտաբով»,- այս առնչությամբ ասել է ANCA-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Արամ Համբարյանը:
Այս կարծիքին համամիտ է Ամերիկյան առաջնորդության հունական խորհրդի գործադիր տնօրեն Էնդի Զեմենիդեսը: «Բարեբախտաբար, Բայդենի վարչակազմը ճիշտ մեկնարկեց եւ ճշմարիտ ու ուղիղ խոսեց Թուրքիայի հետ: Սակայն երբ խոսքը վերաբերում է Հայոց ցեղասպանությանը, Սպիտակ տունը դեռ պետք է ճշմարտացի լինի: Նախագահ Բայդենի՝ որպես սենատոր ծառայության ցուցակը եւ նրա՝ որպես նախագահի թեկնածուի հայտարարությունները ապացուցում են, որ նա գիտի եւ հավատարիմ է այս ճշմարտությանը: Հիմա, երբ նա է ղեկավարը, Թուրքիայի «բոլորին լռեցնելու» կառավարման վերջը պետք է անհեթեթ լինի»,- ասել է Զեմենիդեսը:
