Յուրի Շատունովը հաճախ չի խոսում իր ընտանիքի: Իր կնոջ` Սվետլանայի հետ ծանոթացել է 13 տարի առաջ` Գերմանիայում: Կինը` գերմանուհի է, ռուսական արմատներով:
Սիրված երգիչը այսօր վայելում է իր ընտանեկան երջանկությունն ու հանգստությունը: Շատունովը երկու երեխաների հայր է: Աստղի որդին` Դենիսը, արդեն 7 տարեկան է, իսկ աղջիկը` Էսթերը, մեկ տարով փոքր է եղբորից:

«Կյանքը այնպես է դասավորվել, որ ես ապրում ու ստեղծագործում եմ Ռուսաստանում, իսկ իմ ընտանիքը Գերմանիայում: Ես Գերմանիային քաղաքացիություն չունեմ: Այնուամենայնիվ հեռավորությունը ոչինչ չի փոխում: Ես շատ հաճախ եմ լինում Գերմանիայում և հանդիպում եմ իմ ընտանիքի հետ: Չեմ թողնում, որ երեխաներս զգան «կարոտ» ասվածի համը»:
