Լատվիան հայտարարել է փախստականների ընդունելու պատրաստակամության մասին: Ըստ ՏԱՍՍ-ի, երկրի ՆԳՆ-ն եւ քաղաքացիական ու միգրացիայի հարցերի վարչությունն Իտալիայի եւ Հունաստանի իշխանություններին տեղեկացրել են, որ Լատվիան պատրաստ է փախստականների ընդունել:
Առաջին 10 միգրանտները Լատվիա կժամանեն 2016 թվականի հունվարին: Այս մասին հաղորդում է LETA գործակալությունը՝ վկայակոչելով ՆԳՆ-ի աղբյուրներին:
Լատվիան նաեւ Իտալիայի եւ Հունաստանի գերատեսչություններին ուղարկել է այն չափանիշները, որոնց համապատասխանելու դեպքում կընդունի միգրանտներին: Բալթյան երկիրը ցանկանում է ընդունել երեխաներ ունեցող ընտանիքների, նաեւ ենթադրվում է, որ փախստականներն օտար լեզուներ կիմանան, միջնակարգ կամ մասնագիտական կրթություն կունենան, աշխատանքային փորձ կամ որեւէ ունակություն: Լատվիա ժամանող փախստականները նաեւ անձը հաստատող գործող փաստաթուղթ պետք է ունենան:
