ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը Մյունխենի անվտանգության համաժողովի ընթացքում հայտարարել է Ամերիկայի՝ համաշխարհային ասպարեզ վերադառնալու մասին, և եվրոպացի գործընկերների հետ համագործակցությունը համարել արտաքին քաղաքականության «հիմնաքար», հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի» լրատվական գործակալությունը:

«Ես ասում եմ բոլորին, որ Ամերիկան վերադարձել է: Վերադարձել է անդրատլանտյան դաշինքը, և մենք հետ չենք նայելու», - ասել է Բայդենը:

Բայդենը շեշտել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգների և Եվրոպայի դաշինքը «առանցքային» է եղել համաշխարհային դաշտում և այդպես էլ պետք է մնա: Բացի այդ, ԱՄՆ–ի նախագահը համաժողովի մասնակիցներին հավաստիացրել է, որ ԱՄն–ն հանձնառու է ՆԱՏՕ-ի դաշնակիցների անվտանգության ապահովման համար՝ կազմակերպության կանոնադրության հինգերորդ հոդվածի շրջանակներում, ըստ որի դաշինքի անդամներից մեկի վրա հարձակումը համարժեք է ամբողջ դաշինքի վրա հարձակման:

Նա իր ելույթում մեղադրել է Ռուսաստանին՝ ԵՄ-ի և ՆԱՏՕ-ի միասնությունը խաթարելու փորձի համար:

Ավելի վաղ ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը կոչ էր անում թարմացնել կազմակերպության ռազմավարական հայեցակարգը, քանի որ դրանում ներառված չէ Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերությունների վատթարացումն ու Չինաստանի հզորացումը:

Պենտագոնն էլ, ր հերթին, հայտնել է, որ Ռուսաստանը սպառնալիք է Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի բոլոր անդամների համար, քանի որ, ըստ կառույցի, «ռազմական ուժ է օգտագործում՝ իր նպատակներին հասնելու համար»: Նրանք նշել են, որ նախատեսում են խթանել ամերիկյան շահերը և մտադիր են Մոսկվային «պատասխանատու դարձնել անխոհեմ և ագրեսիվ գործողությունների համար»:
