Փետրվարի 2-ին, ժամը 22.25-ին, «Էրեբունի» բժշկական կենտրոնից հաղորդում էր ստացվել ոստիկանության Էրեբունու բաժին, որ «կրծքավանդակի կտրած-ծակած վերք» ախտորոշմամբ բուժօգնության է դիմել Սարի թաղի բնակիչ, 25-ամյա մի երիտասարդ: Նա հայտնել էր, որ վնասվածքը Գլինկայի փողոցում ընկնելու հետևանք է:

Ավելի քան պարզ էր, որ վնասվածքն ընկնելու հետևանք չէր: Հարուցվեց քրեական գործ. տուժողի առողջությանը պատճառվել էր ծանր վնաս:

Էրեբունու բաժնի քրեական հետախույզները օպերատիվ ճանապարհով պարզեցին, որ միջադեպը տեղի էր ունեցել Քրիստափորի փողոցում՝ «Փեթակ» առևտրի կենտրոնի դիմաց. ճանապարհը չզիջելու շուրջ վարորդների մեջ ծագած վիճաբանությունն ավարտվել էր դանակահարությամբ:

Ու քանի որ տուժած երիտասարդը շարունակում էր պնդել իր անիրական վարկածը` որոշակիորեն բարդանում էր դանակահարողի ինքնությունը պարզելը:
Էրեբունու քրեական հետախույզները, համագործակցելով ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչության գործընկերների հետ, հետևողական աշխատանքի արդյունքում պարզեցին, որ տուժողին դանակահարել էր Սարի թաղի բնակիչ, 29-ամյա մի երիտասարդ:

Փետրվարի 15-ին Բագրատունյաց-Չեխովի փողոցների խաչմերուկից 29-ամյա սարիթաղցին բերման ենթարկվեց ոստիկանության Էրեբունու բաժին, ձերբակալվեց, ապա նաև տվեց խոստովանական ցուցմունք:
